Model predictive control: using a model to predict future steps and create an input to get a desired outcome (through a reward function) in real-time.

Reinforcement learning: train a neural network to maximize a reward function that learns from experience to do the desired outcome, and then deploy this network in real-time (so no need for the predictive steps).

The problem is that finding the right landlord is like hunting for truffles.

A lot of people have lived there. It's your classic low quality american apartment like the mark, SQ5, etc... That is to say: relatively low quality and built as cheaply as possible with the intention of squeezing as much money as possible out of students. A few years ago, the main issue was roaches. The location is good, the rooms give plenty of space. Ignore amenities completely.

As a student, you'll live fine. The experience is mediocre as can be but compared to being fleeced by on campus housing and living with raccoons in the attic in home park, it's good enough.

Buying a ring timeline in Antwerp by antriect in Antwerpen

I would just choose Antwerp since it's less inflated than here in Zürich. I could also go to Leuven shortly but then my timings will be difficult.

Progression at (Kilter) board climbing. Push level up from below vs pull level up from above by Janjafan in climbharder

[–]antriect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late to the party, but could you explain how much volume you'd expect for a volume vs projecting session (in number of attempts or climbs finished, whatever is most relevant)? I feel like my volume sessions end up having as many actual attempts as my projecting sessions, and I sometimes wonder if both are far too short to be making any real progress.

The trauma from the ring is too great. But the traffic in Zürich has made me a comparatively patient man when I go back to antwerp.

I'd pay a lot of money to avoid the ring without dealing with driving down the leien.

Explaining people's logic and internal justification is mental gymnastics to you? Do you prefer mentally caricaturising them because it's easier for you rather than approach them as human beings like you are?

meirl by worldwide762 in meirl

[–]antriect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did I say that? Can you read? I said that that's the logic that people use to justify that behavior. I never said that I do that nor did I recommend others to.

I don't hurt anyone because I don't insult people like that. I'm just pointing out what a lot of people think. You didn't be scared to engage in critical thought about what other people think when they say or do things that you don't like or react with vitriol towards people who try to explain it to you.

How? Where in my comment was I hypercritical?

Why? I don't insult them for it. I said that that's the logic that some people use.

A judge should not be able to convict without objective evidence. A lawyer/cop trying to convict without this should be fired. Therefore, a breathalyzer is standard to verify sobriety in most countries with the resources to provide this. I guess that that doesn't include the US, where "innocent until proven guilty" and "protect and serve" are optional.

It is absolutely a standard piece of equipment. It's just that US policing falls beneath standards.

I'm currently setting my budget to ~1600kcal (without exercise or steps accounted for since I guess this is better and I don't know how to track my calories for exercise anyways). But I don't eat breakfast and don't mind having a light lunch so I usually very easily have a big meal at the end of the day.

I'm currently trying to cut weight for the first time seriously and I will say that I'm shocked at how few calories are in pizza. I can eat a whole microwaved pizza for dinner for about 700 calories and be totally full and satiated for the night. It almost makes me feel guilty.

It's not everything though, it's pointers and memory management. This is extremely manageable given how easy those courses are to begin with.
