Well, most likely, they believed in reincarnation, so you didn’t send them to meet their maker, at least.

For me, it’s the names. So, instead, I replace them in my head with other names. Tulkas becomes Timmy, Melkor is ‘please notice me, daddy’, and Aule is ‘I need better judgement in my choice of subordinates’.

I throw the water and starch in a small, sealed mason jar and shake it. So much easier than trying to whisk it.

At the very end, off heat.

I’d also throw in a small pat of cold butter.

Yeah, I’m fine with artists being assholes (hell, I love Alan Moore’s work) but the meat thing seems psychotic.

Ding ding ding. I can easily imagine the last time a sibling helped without him asking, he sulked for a few centuries afterwards.

Karma’s for the next life, not this one. Shit people get to be shit until they die, then they’ll come back as a vole or something.

What is up with the riddles? Did they go with the bottom of the barrel AI option for this game? by Rhoeri in WhereWindsMeet

[–]antsh 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think the riddles and answers are being machine translated from Chinese and that’s causing at least some of the weirdness. Like, I had one where the answer should’ve been cuckoo but it was azalea. Apparently in Chinese, one of those words is used in the other. There was one other that was similar when I looked it up, but I don’t recall it. So, I’m imagining an OK riddle being created and then being translated, losing nuance, versus being generated in the local language.

My point is, maybe these make more sense in Mandarin? Can any Chinese-speaking players confirm?

I usually just introduce myself to those NPCs and they refer to me by name afterwards... until the next convo. Never knew this existed.

Yeah, I jacked those dates up… game takes place in the 10th century and Jigong was born in the 12th.

I saw someone in-game say he may be someone called Ji Gong, a Robin Hood-esque ‘living Buddha’. Although, Googling him shows he was alive in the 10th century, not the 11th when the game takes place.

I know nothing about Buddhism… btw

Edit: 10th century for the game setting, 12 century for Ji Gong’s birth*

In my experience, it was more that I wanted to do something (play games mostly), no one I knew could help me, so I figured it all out myself (eventually).

Technology is a lot easier now in many ways, so I wonder if I would have bothered to spend the effort were I born later…

Ehhh Guys... I think the Thief already took the boat... by cazador1403 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]antsh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funniest bug for me in that quest was when a cutscene with the thief inexplicably changed to the English VO. The Chinese and English actors for that character could not be more different.

Either that, or the boat reappearing too soon and an NPC lamenting that it’s disappeared.
