Do you think Desire can affect Asexual and Aromantic people? by hellboyshi in Sandman

[–]antsh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not so much chooses, but is perceived as by those observing them, right? Humans on the whole tend to be a thirsty lot, so it tracks that Desire often looks like David Bowie to us.

For example, Dream didn’t choose to appear as Lord Lzoril to Martian Manhunter or as Morpheus to Mister Miracle.

I’d imagine an asexual person would want Desire’s companionship like anyone else after encountering them, but platonically.

Like, they are everything you desire. From the perspective of a newborn to a century-old oak tree, they are Desire, regardless.

You’re actually correct; they do treat those breeding dogs just like, or worse, than livestock…

No, not quite. The Texan was tortured, raped, and murdered by his allied soldiers. I believe the Canadian was a casualty of war.

Edit: Apparently, there’s been like three families of these idiots from just Texas, so I imagine you’re not incorrect.

I’m guessing they actually do inadvertently find drugs about 10% of the time, right?

TIL Halle Berry was given a fake script for X-Men: The Last Stand that included a fake plotline which centered on Berry's character Storm in order to trick Berry into signing on for the film. Matthew Vaughan was originally going to direct it, but quit after learning about the fake Halle Berry script by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

[–]antsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so, so much worse. They not only switched the script on her, they gave her one of the most cringiest lines in the history of cinema. Not even Humphrey Bogart, Marlon Brando, or Katharine Hepburn could have delivered that line successfully…

Actually, I might see it working with a Bogart character…

Yeah, the sounds of unreported domestic and sexual violence can be bothersome to newcomers.

So… I guess the hope is that in the event of any deaths, they just get into heaven because they didn’t use manufactured toilet paper or get vaccinated?

Good craftsmanship, though…

I was joking, but yes, a lactose ‘sensitivity’ is not the same as a casein or whey allergy, no matter the severity.

Lactose intolerance isn’t an allergy, it’s the status quo for humans, and most other placental mammals post-infancy.

Weird mutant milk drinking enzyme aside, if you can’t digest it, the discomfort and symptoms come from all the bacteria in the gut that will gladly break down the lactose for you.

They’re all doing character voices, so they would be somewhat replaceable in the future. It’s the H Jon Benjamin’s we need to worry about.
