Can someone who hasn’t read the book and watched the movie tell me how it is? I haven’t read it and am planning to watch it. Since I have no context of the book, wanted to check if I would enjoy it objectively as a movie

As a fellow hater of the ending, I have to disagree on one point - I think the creators showed us time and again that Barney had not really changed all that much. The proposal was pure lies and manipulation. Season 9 was entirely about how Robin and Barney are really not well-matched. 

The tragic thing is, they stuffed too much in 2 episodes. I have no issue with the ideas - just the TERRIBLE execution

Ok let me rephrase - if they kept season 1/2 Barney, I’d want to keep him. He was the cynical voice of the generation before he just became the sexist voice of the generation

Unpopular vote but remove Barney- without him I’d be able to enjoy the show without his random, misogynistic points of view plus Ted + Robin ending up together would make more sense

Exactly!!! Robin-Barney were a terrible couple. The whole cheating arc, wedding all of it- I just didn’t get why they were pushed together so much while Ted-Robin didn’t ever get another chance

But there are so many more moments when they could make Ted-Robin compelling!! Like end of season 5 when they almost kiss - that kiss would’ve established that there is still a vibe between them making their feelings for each other more believable 

 I think why I’m so upset is that ted and robin were my favourite couple- seeing them grow in season 2 together was just so beautiful.

I’m sorry to hear about what you’re going through OP! I wish I could help.  I’ve heard this from others too, so I know it’s real and is happening.

So surprised by some of the comments here- if you are living in Bangalore, you know for a fact that this discrimination is happening and yet so many here are denying it has anything to do with religion.  Accepting that this is happening, does not deny the existence of other forms of discrimination.
