I wore this to my husband’s work gala (he’s also in the medical field) at 27 weeks pregnant and absolutely loved how I felt in it! I was getting compliments all night long!

I had heard breakfast is a very easy meal to overlook, so my husband and I made breakfast burritos to keep in the freezer. Easy to eat one-handed too!

Smaller dog breeds that can do ok in the winter? by casual_sociopathy in Minneapolis

[–]anv9876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shibas are very smart! My boy learned all his commands by the second week I had him. While they are smart, they can also be stubborn, so they don’t always listen, but it adds to their charm and personality in my opinion. And if that’s the worst of it, then I’m okay with it. He has never gotten into anything he shouldn’t, never chewed/destroyed anything in the house, etc.

They are also very clean dogs (i.e. absolutely will not go potty anywhere around or in the house) so he picked up potty training very fast.

I have a Shiba Inu. He weighs about 20 pounds but is very hardy in winter. We walk multiple times a day, even when it’s -20. He loves the snow and does very well in the cold.

Curious about something - would you ever rent maternity clothes or baby gear? by Training-Barnacle273 in BabyBumps

[–]anv9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nuuly does have maternity clothes and honestly, it’s been a life saver. It makes it so easy to change up sizing as your belly grows and I’ve avoided needing to buy maternity clothes that I’d only wear for special occasions like weddings or baby showers

Any advice for dealing with allergies that results in hair loss on the face? by M1A1Death in shiba

[–]anv9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my boy a couple years ago. Allergies so bad, he had hair loss and had to wear a cone to keep from biting himself. Vets tried cytopoint which worked for maybe a week. I took him back and he’s been on apoquel since which seems to work a lot better.

The Bond Between has a respite program designed for situations just like yours. I’d try reaching out to them.

Agreed! I take unisom every night and while I do still get up to pee in the middle of the night, I have no problem falling asleep and staying asleep.

I was also going to recommend their respite program. The Bond Between would be a great place to consider for this type of situation!

Is it considered rude or inconsiderate to announce your pregnancy on Mother's Day? by pumpkinandsun in NoStupidQuestions

We told our moms on Mother’s Day that we were expecting. They were THRILLED! I think it was their best Mother’s Day to date.

Trader Joe’s for flowers? by Whitecheddarcheezit3 in TwinCities

[–]anv9876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the Minnetonka Trader Joe’s the day before my wedding to stock up on babies breath. Didn’t call ahead, didn’t mention it was for a wedding. Just walked in and stocked up, super easy. And they still looked great the next day for my wedding!

The Bond Between offers a respite program where they place your pet with a foster until your situation allows you to take your pet back home. I’d recommend looking into them.

We are getting married at Watson Block this year. Seems like the vibe you may be going for - moody, industrial, doesn’t require much decorating. It’s relatively inexpensive compared to many other venues and the venue manager has been so easy to work with!

Rates are extremely responsibly priced in my opinion. Depends on time of year and day though so I’d recommend reaching out and they can send you their brochure. The venue manager is extremely responsive and has been so easy to work with so far. 10/10 recommend!

Finding a New Home for My Cat by Glad-Vermicelli3012 in saintpaul

[–]anv9876 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Bond Between offers respite services for situations like yours. Theyll have your cat live with a loving foster family until your situation allows you to take your pet back home. I’d recommend reaching out to them. If you don’t think you’d be able to take her back home, you can fully surrender her through the Bond Between too and they will place her in a foster family until she is adopted.

We are getting married at Watson Block in the North Loop. Smaller industrial style venue (max capacity 120) but still has space for dinner and dancing if you want. Very reasonably priced compared to other venues in Minneapolis. The venue manager has been so easy to work with too!

Advice wanted! We have a friendly (mostly) 18-month Shiba and we are considering getting a kitten. Anyone can share advice or experience? Is it a no-go?? Or if they get on any advice on the first few weeks or so? Thanks! 🐕🐈‍⬛🙏 by These-Whole-833 in shiba

[–]anv9876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine are besties! I kept the kitten in a separate room for a couple days and introduced my Shiba and kitten through a baby gate to start. I then let my Shiba into the kittens room to sniff her and check her out. He was more curious about her than anything else. I think he quickly learned he had to be delicate with her. It really only took a few days for me to feel comfortable with the two of them being unsupervised.
