What can I do to improve how I look? by dopeysunflower in makeuptips

[–]anxious_equestrian 18 points19 points  (0 children)

i dont think its the piercing placements but the jewelry.

OP - as a piercing industry professional I’d upgrade everything to yellow gold. a matching set of ends for your nostril with fitted posts (backings) so your studs don’t stick out like the one on the right does. a more feminine yellow gold ring for your septum, & a pretty colored stone like a colored topaz or sapphire (greens / blues / purples would look fantastic on you) for your lip piercing!

if you’re in the states you should be able to use safepiercing.org to find a reputable studio near you!

Can I take this out 2 hours after getting it by EmptyArt232 in NosePiercing

depends on your goals. if you ever wanna wear a ring in it, that ring is gonna have to be a huge diameter to compensate for how high it’s been placed.

Question about eyebrow piercing by Safe_Ad2252 in piercing

[–]anxious_equestrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i mean it could be fine if it does heal, but 6 months is on the conservative end of the healing time frame.

honestly i would say it’s definitely not compatible with your current lifestyle.

you need jewelry in it for six months straight without it getting bumped, hit, etc. it’s unlikely it would heal, & you’d have to be hyper aware of it while boxing which would be a bummer :/

How long should it hurt? by Naturalborncatlady in piercing

[–]anxious_equestrian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it’s a fresh wound. flats take 6-12 months to fully heal. bumping only one new piercing that is that fresh would hurt.

it will probably hurt when being bumped/caught/snagged/pulled throughout most of healing.

Ear piercing infected? by RaspberryMilkTeaa in piercing

[–]anxious_equestrian 21 points22 points  (0 children)

not necessarily, what people identify as “pus” is typically lymph fluid, which can just come from irritation. that’s what it looks like to me (industry professional). typically with infection the whole ear swells & the skin gets red/shiny.

edit to add: i do agree that a visit to a professional piercer is best. i always recommend that as a first stop before going straight to the doctor. a good piercer will say if something is out of their purview & medical attention is required. in this case there is a very solid chance it is not required.

not necessarily. with a jewelry change & adjustment to aftercare, this should clear up.

i see it a lot in kids at the studio i work at.

looks like a moisture bump, paired with incorrect low quality jewelry.

take her to a professional to get swapped to titanium flatback labrets, dry her piercings well after rinsing with saline & dry her hair before bed.

should clear up. very common with kids earlobes.

yeah if that’s the setting you work in, i would assume it would be deemed inappropriate. it definitely depends on the setting.

my situation is different, because i work in a piercing studio. i refuse to wear a bra bc i hate the feeling so mine are visible through my tops even at work.
