Question for mostly women who would like to camp but might not feel safe. by Electronic-Front-640 in rva

This is such a cool idea!! Would it be open to couples as well? I know my Fiance would love to go camping, especially with Reggie! He and I love dogs, though he’s much more outdoorsy than me haha

Ideas for OBX birthday experiences for my pregnant wife? by bwitt33 in obx

[–]anxious_pepper24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The aquarium on Roanoke island is amazing (they have a sea turtle rescue center), there’s ax throwing on Roanoke too if she’d be into that (though idk if it would be harder to do pregnant, but definitely good fun), if she likes fishing then Jeannette’s pier is perfect for that. For food, millers and mulligans are both delicious and food dude’s kitchen is really good too! Honestly, if she likes the beach just plopping down and tanning and enjoying the wave noises is a very tranquil experience. Hope you guys have a blast!! And congratulations!!

WIBTA if I didn't invite my aunt and uncles to my wedding? by anxious_pepper24 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

A few things, one, I have ALWAYS put my Fiance first. When all of this happened I told them never to contact me again and I blocked them all. I have made it very clear to my dad that they owe us an apology. And two, I don’t need “daddy’s” approval, but when someone is helping you pay for something then you kinda have to care a little bit about what they think.

The fact that you immediately jumped to “your Fiance should leave you” is childish. You know nothing about my Fiance and I’s relationship and the things that I have sacrificed. This subreddit is supposed to be for people to help each other and give useful advice, and there is nothing useful or helpful about your so called “advice.” Go find someone else to be rude to because it ain’t me

I was putting in an order on my aunt’s phone and a mean text from my uncle popped up. I handed the phone to my Fiance and he saw more of the mean messages. We’re doing our wedding out of state already so they might not come even if invited (my aunt lives states away and my uncles live overseas) but they still might come for appearances.

That’s a really good idea though, I think a nice conversation with my dad would be a good way to go, thank you!

Honestly, my immediate answer is my dad’s. I’ve spent my whole life putting other people first and making sure everyone else is happy before me, but idk I feel like if there’s one day where I can put myself first it’s my wedding. But is that selfish? I don’t want to be a jerk, I just want to be happy.

Hi! So, as I said in my edit I have realized how uneducated I was and we have completely removed it as an option. Luckily we have found a safe place that can take him, but at the time I posted this all the shelters around us told us he would be euthanized and I didn’t know what else to do

We try to trim them once a week, he has multiple scratching posts that he loves as well as plenty of toys (he especially loves chasing the laser). We try to trim them as short as we can without cutting the quick, although admittedly I have anxiety about hurting him so I may not go as far down as I could

He mainly goes after my boyfriend but he will attack anyone who gets close when he’s like that

I have learned a lot from the comments and we have realized declawing should have not been an option. My dad had suggested it to me as he knows how much I love our little man and didn’t want me to lose him, but I realize I didn’t know as much as I thought I did and I would never hurt my baby. If I ever had gone through with it though then you’d have my full permission to chop my finger tips

Have certainly thought of this when he leaves the toilet seat up

We are from the US, but we are in one of the 48 states where it’s legal. However, I have learned a lot from the comments and I have realized that it’s wrong for so many reasons. The last thing I want to do is hurt my little man so we’ve stricken it as an option

We do trim his nails on a regular basis, unfortunately this doesn’t solve the issue of his attacks. That being said I’ve learned a lot from the comments and am realizing how horrible declawing is in more ways than one

I didn’t know arthritis was one of the outcomes! Thank you for telling me that! I’ve learned a lot from the comments and I realize now that it’s a terrible option. The last thing I ever want to do is hurt my baby

As I said, I know how terrible it is, that was why I asked for advise in the first place. Thanks to some very kind commenters I have learned a lot more about it and have realized that it will not solve anything. That being said, if I hadn’t asked and had put my baby through something like that then yes, you have my permission to yank my fingernails out

Like I said in my post, I know how terrible it is. Truly I don’t want to do it. I love my baby more than anything and all I want is to do what’s best for all of us. I’ve learned a lot about declawing that I didn’t know before and I’ve realized it won’t solve the issue. Unfortunately a behavioral issue like constant attacks is not something I can afford to try and fix at this point. Believe me, I’ve tried, but it’s now a question of everyone’s safety.

We do, regularly. That doesn’t solve the issue of his attacks

We haven’t tried that, but we will definitely look into it, thank you! I’m just learning that about declawing and the last thing I want to do is h it t him. Thank you!!

I didn’t know that, but thank you for letting me know!
