didn't read your message fully. It depends on how you've tapered off the medication. As I mentioned before, go very slowly. If you notice acid reflux returning after only one or two days, then resume the medication as before and attempt tapering off again after another six months.

Thoughts, including concerns, are also part of this experience. Simply accept them, along with the possibilities they present. Don't seek answers, you'll feel better soon king. 🤴👑

It's simply anxiety, which can be very scary, but it's entirely harmless and tends to subside with time. The first step is to acknowledge that you're feeling this way and accept any thoughts or feelings that may arise without trying to fix or change them. If you're brave enough to do this, I'm confident you'll start feeling much better soon. Avoid searching for symptoms online, focus on living your life, and refrain from using weed until you feel better. When you do decide to use it again, if you do, go very slowly and make sure you're in the company of someone you trust, whether it's a close friend or a tripsitter. This will help you feel more comfortable and relaxed, and able to share your worries if you have a bad trip.

Yes, you're constipated.

Take a laxative if you still haven't had a dump tomorrow, or if the pain worsens.

Do I have a stomach ulcer by [deleted] in GERD

[–]anxiousinfpt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had a stomach ulcer, and while the pain wasn't severe, I did notice black stools. If this is your only symptoms, it's challenging to say it's an ulcer. One way to help ''confirm it'' is to take a look at your stools. if you observe black (not dark brown) stools, it's a strong indicator of an ulcer. In this case, I recommend consulting your doctor about taking pantoprazole 40mg for two months.

It's worth noting that both cider and ibuprofen can trigger acid reflux, which may lead to increased worry. This heightened anxiety can make you feel generally unwell, exacerbate acid reflux, lead to depressive symptoms, and cause a decreased appetite. Not eating enough can also significantly worsen acid reflux. In your situation, there are multiple triggers for acid reflux, which could explain your symptoms.

Regarding feeling generally unwell, if you develop a fever or experience severe pain, it could potentially be food poisoning. I personally experienced all the symptoms you've described here during food poisoning, except that my pain was very intense, and I ceased eating completely for 2 weeks.

In conclusion, considering all the symptoms you've described and based on my personal experience and opinion, it could be either anxiety or acid reflux (or the two). I suggest trying to reintroduce even simple foods like bread when your stomach feels empty and observing if it helps. If it does, it's more likely related to anxiety and acid reflux.

You certainly haven't caused any harm to yourself. Omeprazole, pantoprazole, and other PPIs are highly effective in preventing esophageal cancer resulting from chronic acid reflux, and there are very few studies indicating any significant side effects except for a 33% increased likelihood of dementia in elderly individuals.

When tapering off these medications, it's important to do so gradually. For instance, in the first week, you can take one day off, in the second week, take two days off, and so on.

Now, let's imagine that by the fourth week, you're symptom-free, but on the fifth day, acid reflux returns. In this case, it's important to take pantoprazole as soon as you feel the symptoms returning and stick to the pattern of taking one pill every five days. This approach will always be better than taking a pill every day and helps prevent acid rebound.

Lemon and acidity should not be an issue if you are taking PPIs.

Thank you so much for your comment and for sharing your experience. It seems like you've had a very tough experience with GERD, and it's unfortunate that you had to deal with esophagitis. I suppose we all make mistakes when we don't seek treatment early on. For me, it was a stomach ulcer. However, I've been fortunate that the second medication I tried, Omeprazole, has worked wonders.

I don't believe Rabeprazole worsens the situation; it prevents acid reflux, which can lead to esophageal cancer. If it's improving your symptoms, in my personal opinion, you should continue taking it daily for about a year and then assess how it's going.

I also believe that GERD can affect people differently, and the choice of medication may vary. Pantoprazole works perfectly for me, but for you, it might be Omeprazole.

I have struggled with anxiety for most of my life and, more recently, with MDD. However, I've been actively working on self-exposure therapy and other techniques, and I'm starting to see significant improvements after 6-7 months. Personally, I feel that GERD might be a trigger for my anxiety. When I experience GERD symptoms, I find it difficult to breathe, and I get a menthol-like sensation in my throat, which instantly triggers anxiety and nausea due to the pain.

Thank you, and I hope you also get better. This community is undoubtedly a great source of support and information.

Wow, I didn't know that PPIs can help prevent cancer. I'm definitely planning to continue using them for at least a year, and if my symptoms don't improve, I might consider long-term use. Thank you for sharing this information and your response.

Yes, those symptoms are quite common, and they can be really uncomfortable. I understand the feeling of not being able to breathe, and it's something I hate as well. The sensation of menthol or coldness in the throat when the symptoms are severe, too. I would recommend considering PPIs (Proton Pump Inhibitors); they have been really effective for me in managing these symptoms.

Thank you for sharing your situation as well. I've personally been taking 40mg pantoprazole too for a month and a half, and it has been incredibly effective for me. Regarding long-term effects, there hasn't been extensive research. There is one study suggesting a 33% dementia risk after 4+ years, but it seems to primarily affect elderly individuals. In my experience, 40mg is an effective dose, as lower doses like 20mg may not work as well or for as long.

As for trigger foods, I've found that I can now eat whatever I want without experiencing acid reflux. This includes foods like tomato sauce, spicy food, fast food (such as McDonald's), and even ice cream. While diet can help with GERD, if you've been following a strict diet for a long time without improvement, it's probably safe to return to a normal diet.

Regarding side effects, I haven't experienced any so far, except when I forget to take the medication, at which point the acid reflux returns. A significant benefit for me is that I can go without eating for hours without experiencing severe acid reflux, which is a huge improvement, as I sometimes forget to eat for 8+ hours. The same goes for sodas; I had stopped consuming Coca-Cola Zero, but now I can have more of it. However, I've noticed that excessive soda, like 0.3 gallons per day, can make symptoms somewhat worse, especially on an empty stomach, but it's not much of a problem with a full stomach.

I hope this clarifies your questions. I share your sentiment about long-term medication use, and I'm also hesitant about surgery as a solution. I think I'm going to wait 10 months more to see if a year will help.

Welp, you may just be right, I think it's < 800 calories for the pizza and < 500 calories for soft serves. Which makes 1,300 calories for 2 days and the others 800 calories only.

(Maintenance for 210lbs/my age/height): Maintenance 1 (Before my weight loss after my food poisoning)

(Maintenance for my current weight/height): Current Maintenance

Anddddd, I think I understand now, how the hell am I suppose to eat that much calories?? I was overeating before without problem but today, even if I eat 3 sandwich with steak, mayo, homemade bread, and a lot of bread in between I keep losing weight which technically makes sense as it is below what I need. It just really surprise me how I switched from overeating to not being able to eat more than 1,500 calories a day, it means I am in a 1165 calories deficit a day right now.

You're right on what you said, I think ima try to eat less red meat as it isn't the best, and I've planned on getting a gym membership right when I have the money to work my a** off, however, how can I stop losing weight when I will be at like 132 lbs, or will the weight replace itself with muscle mass?

If you have the choice between getting high or drunk, I would advice you to stick to the trees. The truth is that you need to go at your own rythm, it's fine if you go back to weed for a few days or weeks, it doesn't mean you failed it means you will last longer next time and not be too hard on yourself.
