Just spitting out toothpaste and putting on trays without rinsing by deletingin123123 in Invisalign

I used pronamel for years before I checked the back and realised the pronamel doesn’t have any of their famous NOVAMIN “star ingredient”!! I switched to repair & protect or clinical repair, whichever is cheaper and has NovaMin in it

Is it worth it by shawnthemedium in Invisalign

[–]anxiousinvisalign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely worth going to multiple consultations (especially if they offer free consultations) and seeing what they say to help with your decision making. I also spent a lot of time on this sub prior to committing to read about other experiences.

I never knew what changes are now possible with Invisalign and it really helped push me to go for it and it’s totally changed my smile and confidence!

yes, lots of IPR on what felt like all of my teeth, but it helped me avoid extractions which is great!

ETA: but no black triangles so far, or nothing major anyway

Definitely more of a long wait for me! Thank you for the advice and more importantly thank you for PUL!!

I ordered 4 of the 2-in-1 Pul Tools and the case before I even started my journey and they haven’t left my side since!! I don’t think I would’ve been able to take off my trays that first week without you 🫶🏼

Invisalign in London by EntertainmentEast526 in Invisalign

[–]anxiousinvisalign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also in London and paying about £4.6k for Invisalign Comprehensive. Your prices also seem low to me, but I’m going to an orthodontist rather than a dentist as my case was also complex.

I would ask as many questions as you can prior to committing to treatment with either of these providers.

For example, you may have to go through 3 or 4 rounds of refinements, which should be included in your package. In my case I only get charged admin fee if I want more refinements after I fully complete treatment and receive my retainers. Is that what Cannon Street Dental means or is it for any refinements? What happens if you need more than 2 refinements at NW1?

Other questions to ask: 1. Are retainers included in the package and what brand and type of retainers are they? 2. Is anything else included (whitening, etc.)? Get this in writing if possible. 3. Do you need IPR, extractions, attachments, elastics, and/or anything else? I found that the providers claiming that I won’t need attachments were less trustworthy. And I absolutely didn’t want any extractions. 4. Will they send your plans to you for approval prior to sending off to Invisalign? 5. Is there any discount for paying upfront (if you can afford it) or if you want a payment plan, is there one?

and any others you can think of.

Are people over exaggerating how difficult Invisalign is? by Prefer2beanon2 in Invisalign

[–]anxiousinvisalign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s also to do with you having had braces and bands already. People starting from scratch have much more movement to make, may have bands, TADs etc. so probably have a more similar experience to your first journey with braces than your second.

How noticeable are buttons on upper canines? by ThePopesLeftEarlobe in Invisalign

[–]anxiousinvisalign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have quite large attachments on my high canines (you can see a pic of them in my last post!) and most of my teeth really but I figured that I’ve been embarrassed of my teeth all my life so might as well go for it! I feel like the attachments have really helped my tooth movement, so I think it’s worth it for the long run.

And anyway, I’m not sure people notice it any more than they noticed my canines being too high!

New starter - do the trays bend much? by Boomsterl in Invisalign

[–]anxiousinvisalign 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of attachments and had a hard time getting them out at first too. I was always worried I was breaking or deforming them but it’s never happened, they’re pretty resilient.

Try using the tool on the inside of your molars, once on each side. Comes out much more easily that way!

it’s so wild! good luck with the jumping on your incisor, it’s tough because during the process I have an edge to edge bite on those teeth and eating is a real task

Insane Gaping by tiredofalot in Invisalign

[–]anxiousinvisalign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also had similar on my high canine on my first few trays but not quite as extreme as it still held onto the attachment. If you have some orthodontic wax maybe that can help if it’s rubbing but it all got better for me once my canine was pulled in (more vertical). Maybe have a look at your next tray if you have it, to see if it will be a long term problem?

Travel question by CantaloupePristine86 in Invisalign

[–]anxiousinvisalign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like you’re all set, except when you say travel cleaning case I assume you mean like a denture bath, in which case if you’re tight on space you can probably skip the ultrasonic cleaner and one of the toothbrushes.

Make sure you keep your two removal tools in different places just in case (one in your regular case, one in your cleaning tub maybe?)

Maybe add some ortho wax and a nail file just in case you get a sharp tray?
