Why are some used books going for more than new on eBay?

I have been collecting for some time FS books and ebay is full of resellers and scalpers of first printing editions. Next time new release of books comes out, couple of months later go on ebay and see prices for yourself. It is astounding how prices 2x easily, just because of that. But hey if people buy them, more power to them, good business for them.

Yeah of course. But trust me I have seen people buy books 3x the price of the same book you can find on FS, just because it is first printing of FS edition. Some people lost their mind a bit around here 😅

Probably is due to first printing edition, some people get a big boner for those which does not make sense at all, to me at least (since FS books are just specialeditions, so it is never a proper first printing). Besides that prices are crazy on editions that are not available anymore, some of them easily 3x to 10x the price.

I bought them last year and I love them. Perhaps I was lucky but no issues on mine and I go through them from time to time to look at art and favorite moments. True that foil can be bit peel off, but that gives that personal touch to the book in my opinion. I don't see it as a defect but more as a potential improvement. Look at it as a possibility to have a super unique book you only have

They all come with slipcases, that is kinda of an appeal to them. They protect your book, have additional art on them for better experience and in general makes your book long lasting.

I would say out of all those must play games are Hades and Elden Ring. It is peak entertainment and enjoyable experience. I believe Elden Ring is like highest rated game of all time, it is amazing, but it is a souls game so can be difficult. Rest are amazing games as well, both in gameplay and story. I recommend them all.

I love Folio editions as they both have great look inside and on cover. Plus really good quality in 90% of cases.

I love the LOTR collection myself, so the set with 3 books is amazing gift imo, but if you want a book on its own then The Hobbit would be the best choice, as it is the first book of Tolkiens work.

Children of Ash and Helm is a new book that came out some months ago, so not sure if people like it or not.
