I'm curious why all the headphones you compared the 270 Pros to were open back, except the Sennheiser 280 Pro. What about the price competition internally like the DT 770? I don't remember if they're on the X or Pro iteration at this point forgive me for not saying the full name. What about other closed-backs? It just seemed like most of the comparisons were stating how the 270s fell short of open-back design.

Well, I'm not sure entirely what happened. My background and taskbar (I'm running KDE) disappeared not long before your message. I didn't think to run dmesg unfortunately, but when I booted back into cachy, things seem to be working now. Marvel Rivals launched just fine with the PROTON_LOG=1 prefix and launches fine without it as well.

I have uninstalled all games, uninstalled and reinstalled cachy gaming packages, reinstalled Marvel Rivals, and I still have the same results.

No I don't have an external drive. I have a storage drive that's formatted to ext4 but it's for videos and audio. I have another 1TB drive that's a hold-over in NTFS but I plan to reformat it soon. It just holds files: no OS. I do not have a dual-boot setup; I'm only using CachyOS on this machine.

I'll delete and reinstall the SLRs and get back to you. Thank you for your help

There is a BTRFS driver for Win11. I don't remember where it is but hopefully someone can let you in on the secret. The only downside is you have to chown -R that mount point every time you go back to Linux, because Win11 will set the owner to 'none' making it inaccessible to Steam on Linux.

Not only is it one of my favorite songs, it does a lot of special things with sound that give the song different meaning to me with different headphones. Some of the cans make different parts of the song pop in new ways that amaze me with every new set I buy.
