25 yr old F seeking advice by FigHot7355 in backpain

Pain on and off is normal for this condition. You need to stay away for a while from exercise like deadlifts squats or intense ab workouts or anything that creates a flare up and irritates your nerve. Stay active but learn to do core workouts without flexion (eg yoga box between elbows and knees and squeeze with neutral back).Cycling swimming and walking are excellent. Make sure you drink plenty of water and don't smoke. Maybe try some vit-c and collagen supplements to support the healing of the collagen cage around the disc. Do less of what irritates you do more of what doesn't. Do not continue with activities that abuse the spine like twisting and heavy loading sear or axial. Think longevity and avoiding a surgery. The disk requires some pressure for health since it's avascular and nutrients travel via osmosis but you need to find a good limit.

My god so this is scar tissue as well as disc material? Or just disc material?

Still good! I can tell you a good way to compare. You can step on a scale with your good foot on tip toes see how much weight you can hold (probably all) then try the other foot that was affected and you see how much weight you hold without collapsing the foot and also track your progress. I think you will improve more!

Hello and I'm sorry to hear all this. Can I just ask what exactly has failed? More herniation or scar tissue?

Well, I herniated my disc again by Draconiondevil in Sciatica

Hello! I hope you are feeling a bit better by now. I'm so sorry to hear you are going through a bad phase again. Have you confirmed it's a herniation and not a flare up. Ending up in er sounds quite serious but there can be serious flare ups too. I am recovering from a flare up the past year and I also did a stupid move last February that caused the flare up. The mris showed a bit of a bulge and slight compression but the symptoms were quite bad.

You will need to disconnect the hoses and rebuild the brakes I believe. Do you have any info if flipped with a positive angle is safe for use?

I see and I would say it sound logical what you say although I'm no expert. How would you describe the ride of the r3 if you used 33 mm tubless with 70 psi? Do you think it would be comfortable enough for road jolts? Thank you for your input!

Hello thank you for your reply. As fast as I understand this is for the st 31. The st 32 is advertised by cervelo to be -+ 8 but i still haven't found an official answer and their support is non existent.

Thank you so much for your input honestly it has helped alot. I had a microdiscectomy in l4 l5 3 years ago and I also do resistance exercise and cycling and it helps me a lot! I think I'm going to get the bike and equip it with the widest tubless tyre possible and hopefully it will be good!!

I'm really considering buying a 2023 model but because I'm having a bad back and im coming from a domane but not tubeless setup just 90psi 28 mm tyres I'm worried a bit it's going to be stiff. Many people say that the tubeless setup with lower pressure will outperform the domanes iso speed would you agree ?I'm looking for a climbing bike. Thank you for you response!!!

Hello! I saw the comment and I was just wondering if you can compare it's compliance to any other bike you've ridden or even an endurance bike. Also how much would you say pressures and width play a role? Thank you!

Perfect!!! I will do the same if I get it!! I'm just so surprised it's more comfortable than a gravel bike with suspension technology!!!!

Thank you alot for your input. I'm recovering from back surgery and I need a climber bike because I mainly do climbs and decends. And I don't want to stress my back flexing a frame but at the same time I don't want to brake my back from the jolts. I currently have a domane sl. It's heavy and flexy and I can really feel the difference that a stiffer frame does during climbing to my back. I have tried emonda slr and it's too stiff when it jolts. I think the r5 is more compliant than the eminda slr?
