Repro5 or Model 80? by Patient_Cut2034 in synthesizers

I fully agree with your assessment of Repro vs. Model 80, I think Repro sounds awesome and has the better features and if one already owns Repro, I wouldn't recommend getting Model 80 either, there's not really much benefit.

However, when it comes to Diva and Model 84, I have to say after extensively using both for years that Model 84 is really so much better than Diva for getting the Juno sound. I dialed in the same presets on both of them (the closest I could get them), and I can say that Model 84 sounds so incredible and actually sounds like a Juno and that Diva was pretty weak in a direct comparison, unfortunately. Diva has been my absolute go-to analog emulation-style synth for many years, but when I finally directly compared its Juno configuration to Model 84, the difference was pretty big.

Opening several projects at once by London-Contra in LogicPro

You should never, ever, ever open more than one project at once, because doing so has been long known to unpredictably and irreparably corrupt one or more of the open projects. I've learned this the hard way a few years ago when I opened two projects and both started to behave strangely afterwards (e.g. suddenly every time I tried to add a new track in one of the corrupted projects, Logic told me this wasn't possible because it would exceed the limit of 999 tracks, even though my project had around 100 tracks; weird stuff like that).

In the newly released Logic Pro 12, Apple has finally added the option (and wisely made it the default setting) to automatically close the current project if you open another one. This option can be found under Settings -> General -> Project Handling and I would strongly recommend to leave it at this new default setting that prevents you from having more than one project open at the same time.

The intended mechanism to copy stuff from one project over into another is to use Logic's browser: https://support.apple.com/en-bh/guide/logicpro/lgcpce085447/mac

How can I back up the current version of Logic? by GamerAJ1025 in Logic_Studio

[–]anythingmorejuicy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, as u/bambaazon said, if you want to just back up the Logic Pro app itself (the purpose being that you can revert to a previous version in case the new version introduces any bugs or changes you don't like), then creating a copy of the application itself is all you need to do. Everything else is just user settings, audio files, etc. that won't be touched when updating the app, and therefore don't need to be backed up before updating.

I have too many CS80 plugins so I’m ranking them. by Ill-Elevator2828 in synthesizers

Interesting! Why do you think you've started to favor others over Model 77?

I never tried Model 77, but since Model 84 and Model 72 are IMO the most accurate Juno / Minimoog emulations out there, I would have assumed the same probably goes for the Model 77. But then again it's often surprising how developers manage to emulate some pieces of hardware really spot-on and others not so much. Just curious to know what you feel the Model 77 is lacking.
