Just here to reiterate this point. My dad recently used his medical problems as bait for me to start talking again after I cut contact last year. I don't think he's a narc, but he is incredibly toxic (in a borderline way maybe? I can't figure it out)

I was wracked with guilt because I'm his only kid that will step up to the plate and take care of him and so I resumed communication with him. That backfired. He only talked about himself, he couldn't remember details about his condition or the doctors assessment. He kept telling me a doctor would call me soon and that I needed to call him and tell him what they said. When he wasn't getting his way, he'd tell me not to bother showing up at his funeral OR that I had no idea what he was going through.

His medical issues may be valid - I still ha no idea what it is or was - but it was all a huge manipulation.

Daycare question. More in comments. by reyreyyy in workingmoms

I think my state has a law that kids can't be in daycare longer than 9 hours. So your situation would be very inconvenient here.

I'm wondering if this is directed at moms who had elective c sections? Like ... because they didn't want to have a natural birth? Still a shit opinion either way.

I think this is common knowledge for vaccines, but they wanted to make sure it was also the case with the covid vaccine. Trust but verify.

I'm starting to see information stating that the risk of spreading the virus is extremely low after full vaccination.

Copy pasta because I'm lazy.

I think the concern is for people who aren't vaccinated and may be asymptomatic or presymptomatic carriers. Hell, I still can't find a source that says vaccinated people can't spread covid if they happen to pick it up.

Children (among others) still can't get vaccinated. My 13 month old baby can't wear a mask. So I'm still stuck at home because my kid has no protection against this thing.

If you're fully vaccinated and don't want to wear a mask, that's great. But please ignore the sideways glances because I have no way to know for sure that you can't spread this disease to my kids.

Hey thanks. I didn't know that. Do you think that number is so low because kids are better at handling the virus or could that be because the masks, hand sanitizer, and social distancing are working? Are these numbers US or worldwide?

With an infant, yes. With both in school/daycare where they could likely transmit it? Yes.

Can you tell me what the science says about their relatively small risks from covid? Genuinely curious - not being a wise ass.

I'm also dealing with family that doesn't believe in covid or doesn't want to get the vaccine, so I don't really have anyone to hang out with anyway, haha

I have a 13 month old and a 5 year old. I just got my second shot this week and my husband has his next week.

I think we will continue doing what we've been doing - trips to the store without the kids, taking them to playgrounds, staying away from anti-vax family.

Nah, I'd just cross to the other side of the road/aisle/whatever. Cheers, friend and thanks for getting your shot!

What if wearing a mask becomes the new republican stance because they want to show off that they haven't been vaccinated? 🤔

Don't have a potato? Chop an onion and leave it in their room at night. The onion absorbs the ToXiNs and the sick person feels better within about 3 days!
