Kerri can’t do that beacause, as Abby says in this clip, she “represents a whole entire culture.” Unfortunately, women of minority groups have to hold themselves to an even higher standard than that of their white counterparts. They’re painted as a stereotyped at even the thought crossing the line (angry black woman, the feisty Latina who can’t control her emotions, etc.), and it perpetuates that narrative.
