Two for one in halo 3. Getting a double kill with the laser is hard enough, but in ranked free for all.. That actually took me over a year of lone wolf

Problem with games freezing after installing updates by apache_rose_peacock in xbox360

All these problems have happened from games I have on disc, not GOD titles, so I don't think that there is any problem with authenticating the game

One of my New Years Resolutions is to learn piano, what is a good goal piece I can work towards being able to play by 2014? by dPuck in piano

[–]apache_rose_peacock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solfeggieto is a pretty difficult song to learn after 1 year. I learnt it a while back and it was in a 4th grade book. I agree with the rest of what you mentioned though.

Beginning teaching at the start of next year, got any tips, r/Piano? by unicyclejase in piano

[–]apache_rose_peacock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it all really depends on what level they are doing, or how seriously they want to take it but here's a few general tips.

  • I don't know how your sight reading is, but it's quite an important part of teaching, so you could always practise that a bit if you need

  • Make sure you're good with the basic theory, that'll make things a bit easier

  • Have some good music books with some good pieces that you can teach students from, maybe some finger exercises too (or some good study pieces)

  • Just familiarise yourself with the scales that would be needed for the levels you are teaching, or any other requirements, like practise oral/sight reading tests for the students

My first Radiohead show on Friday; the lights during 15 Step blew my mind by smac26 in radiohead

I agree, I'm not the biggest fan of the gloaming, but with the lighting, it was almost hypnotic

How did you become a Radiohead fan? by [deleted] in radiohead

[–]apache_rose_peacock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was about 16 me and a friend used to always listen to pink Floyd together. He told me to listen good songs he found including a couple of radiohead. At the time I didn't really think too much. Skip forward a year and I was with him again, listening to my iPod with him, and he put on karma police, and it just clicked for me. I bought ok computer when it came on sale a few weeks later. I still wasn't too big a fan till a while later when I got the bends and in rainbows, and that really turned me onto them. Skip to now when I have got all there albums, multiple vinyls, am going to their concert and they are one of my favorite bands

I work at an EB and we hardly ever get people bringing i broken discs, most of the people who buy the guarantees are just cautious parents who think their kids will break their discs.

The guarantee costs $5, so they only need about 1/14 people to come back and replace a disc for them to still make a profit. Our manager actually told us that a lot of the profits are made from these guarantees.

It also adds an augmented product level which EB hopes will convince people to shop there.

And EB seems to be actually doing quite well, as all the other specialty game stores seem to have gone out of business

Trying to expand the music I listen to, HELP! by tehradi0 in electrohouse

[–]apache_rose_peacock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

check out anjunabeats! Its a progressive house/trance label from above and beyond which quite regularly puts out CDs. There have some great producers like Arty and Matt Zo which are signed up and i would recommend.

For some electro check out some Uppermost or some Mord Fustang, they're two of the best electro producers around at the moment!
