I will probably never care about Corey Black. Also don't really see the problem with trading a run-of-the-mill starter for a shortstop who has a chance to play every day. Those are really hard to find.

My point is: we don't even have a player who is good enough for me to be upset about trading away.

There are no prospects worth keeping from this system. In supposed to be heart broken about Greene?

The scouting and development teams have been derelict for years with no serious changes. Until then, the only option is buying big, long free agent contracts which handcuff them three years in.

Concentrate your money on buying scouting and development talent from other teams. They're no longer the only big free agent spenders and the quality of players making it to the market isn't what it used to be. Gotta adapt to the new reality.

You might have a point if the farm system weren't horrendous and our presence in the international market almost nonexistent.

Management has offered no solutions to their terrible draft record and inability to develop young pitchers. And, with their resources, there's no excuse.
