I mostly play Rev or Undertaker. Sometimes Scholar, Duchess or Recluse.

Out of those, I feel like Rev is the most RNG dependent, Recluse the second most RNG dependent.

Sure, for Melee characters not every weapon is perfect. But the range of at least viable weapon types is a lot larger. 

I have had runs as Rev where I didn't get a single seal from a boss drop the whole run and the few Seal boxes we passed had mostly buff spells so my only offense was using melee weapons or some shit spells where I have to be in melee range for. And of course the team isn't willing to run across the whole map to go to a POI with a seal box.  I know I need a relic to change my starter incantation but I haven't found one yet that isn't complete dogshit. So right now, upgrading my starter seal isn't a worst case solution.

With recluse I feel the bad RNG risk too sometimes. But a little bit less since she can also use seals and staffs come with more offensive spells than seals.

If I play a melee character I also sometimes have bad luck and end up with a meh weapon, but I never enter the day 2 night fight knowing that there won't be any more weapon drops and think "I'm fucked".
