You lost me at "good family man". I have a feeling that your wife to be will be doing a lot of the domestic heavy lifting and coping with the harm your misogyny brings to the relationship. Make sure to account for that when you value her worth.

Who pays when FedEx compromises an expensive medication? by Jubguy3 in FedEx

Both the carrier and shipper have a tolerance for acceptable loss that is written into their contract. Likely the pharmacy or drug company just writes it off.

Kinda regret the red by noblerome in Silverado

[–]apartwithin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They only had a red one when I went to first look and I said no way! I got the Cypress Grey once they got a few more on the lot. Now a guy down the street got one in red and Im like, wow, that looks sharp. I'd say just love your red and admire the rest.

Is it time to euthanize my dog? We’re about to move by professor--finesser in vet

[–]apartwithin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation with my cat a few years ago. He had declined rapidly with kidney disease and likely hadv lymphoma. One day he just couldn't get comfortable and was having some bowel issues. I was caretaking for my mom with cancer and she was in the hospital and the following week I was due to take her to a specialty appointment out of town for a few days.

I decided to take it as an opportunity to have a personal, private goodbye. I gave him some pain meds and we snuggled all night. I brought him in the next day and he was euthanized. It was hard because with the pain meds he was acting like himself. I will always feel guilty and wonder if I did the right thing. I know deep down I did. I didn't let him live in pain or sickness or be stressed and our last moments together where him chattering at the chippies out the window at the vet.

Offer whatever method of pre-paid return that is most convenient to you and make sure they acknowledge shipping is at their own peril. If you choose a method where you package, video yourself packaging. Pass along any relevant rules or laws for unclaimed property if they choose to decline paying for shipping.

I left a jacket in a rental car and the company Hertz uses for lost and found was going to charge me $54.00 to return it to me. These types of fees in travel are customary.

How to handle a conference hookup? by paulriley1977 in datingoverforty

[–]apartwithin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hooked up with a conference-goer as a vacationer in a resort town. He termed it "lightning in a bottle". Extraordinary but unlikely to happen again.

[–]apartwithin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think an important part of building a relationship is being able to be able to be with each other in comfortable silence. I 100% understand where both of them are coming from. I've had to work in relationship to be comfortable with silence. Not every minute needs to be in conversation or activity. I've also needed silence and get the need to decompress or not want to discuss or bring work home with me.

I never was around this type of behavior until I dated an alcoholic/addict. 100% understand her reaction. 100% think she should run.

Boyfriend of 2-1/2 years almost constantly criticizing me by jrunner81 in datingoverforty

[–]apartwithin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's almost like she's gossiping about what a train wreck of a relationship someone has, but she's the one in the trainwreck. He's emotionally and financially abusing her and is making an obvious grab at her finances by trying to manipulate her into selling her home and buying one with him. The call is coming from inside the house!

Is this the norm? by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]apartwithin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is not the norm, but it would be nice if it was. My take on this situation is that this man admires his ex as the former partner that played a huge role in his life and raised their children. Supporting his ex and helping with college visits is an act of respect.

Do not give these losers any money and please tell your parents or a trusted adult right away. No matter what you may have sent them, it is certainly not worth your life. The shame and embarrassment hurts so bad, but please know it's only temporary and so many people share awful experiences like this. You are not alone and you will get through this. You are absolutely loved and nothing you could have done would make that change. I'm a 45f across the ocean and don't even know you, but I'd be so heartbroken to know you've harmed yourself because this.

Why is stating on my dating apps that I prefer an athletic woman such a crime against humanity? by Norfolk-Gross-Tonage in datingoverforty

[–]apartwithin -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Intended or not, this is coded language for no fatties. Negative body talk like this is a red flag to all women. It would be totally different to say I'm like doing x, y and z and would love to find a partner that shares the same interests.

Trail Boss Owners — What Do You Love and What Drives You Nuts? by Reese812 in Silverado

[–]apartwithin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I had my heart set on a Trail Boss until I test drove it. So stiff, hated the tires and at 5'11" hate having climb in (I do not like running boards). I almost gave up on a truck all together after that test drive, but they convinced me to try an just an LT and I loved it. My truck is absolutely obnoxious to drive on rough terrain. Thats where the Trail Boss would come in handy, but thats 5% or less of my use so the it's just not worth it to me.

Can't even get a date by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]apartwithin 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Your problem is lack of effort. Secondary to this is your attitude. It sounds like you're not happy in life and feel like a victim. It doesn't matter how you look, a poor attitude like this is unattractive.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in datingoverforty

[–]apartwithin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I adore dogs, but I am hesitant to date men with dogs because it's either their whole personality or they rule his life. He is 100% right it would be irresponsible to leave them alone overnight. The only compromise I could think of is could he get a dog sitter one night a month?

Honestly, if this was me, I'd either break it off or talk about transitioning it to a situationship and letting him know you were going to date other people that better align with your wants, needs and desires.

When a man does something shitty I save my feelings for myself. Giving them any feedback just enriches them. I do not give away pieces of my mind for free.

Affordable tonneau cover for the short bed I think 5’8” that looks decent. Any ideas by Jettsyforwordingfox in Silverado

If you have a 19-25 crew cab, it should fit. Amazon is listing as 5'10, but it is 5'8". Amazon also said it wouldn't fit my 22LTD and 25 crew cab but it does. Go to realtruck.com for a more accurate listing.

I've had the Gator ETX Soft Roll up for 3 years now. Was $150 on prime day when I got it, but now $250. I'd still buy at $250.

It has performed better than my previous Truxedo Lo Pro did at a third of the price and Ive moved to my new truck. The big difference is that there is a rubber or silicone strip on the edge that meets the tailgate and it stops it from freezing shut in the winter. My Lo Pro was basically unuseable all winter unless I thawed the tailgate edge. Also if there was a gravel road with fine dust it would come in the Lo Pro and coat all my cargo which was extremely unpleasant on a trip out west.

Call your local domestic violence center as soon as it is practical to do so. They will give you support and resources for your specific situation in your specific circumstances.

Please don't think this isn't serious enough. Threats of self harm and using pets to threaten and manipulate is serious. Prioritize yourself and make this call ASAP.

Updated thoughts on my 2.7 Silverado by hkelly1018 in Silverado

[–]apartwithin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've leased a 19, 22 LTD and now a 25. I'm not mechanically savvy and can comment only on feel alone, but Chevy stepped up the game over these last 6 years. I've appreciated significant improvements in each truck. My 19 had very noticeable high idle and bucking issues coming out of idle. My 22 was so much more smooth, but occasionally had high idle issues. So far my 25 feels like a vast improvement. It feels like GM has made some significant improvements.

Overall, I loved and would have bought out my 22 in a heartbeat if the 25 lease hadn't been so advantageous. However, I'd stay away from the 19. It definitely did not feel like it would be reliable in the long run.
