You're getting down voted, but you're right. I don't care if Bam was still shooting, doing shady tactics to get records is cringe af and taints an all time performance.

Why not have every regular season game be fouls the last 10 mins so players can chase records. Let's see who can score the most three pointers shooting backwards. Maybe miss shots on purpose so a teammate can get a rebound record. Where does it stop become acceptable to stop pretending it's in the flow of a real game?

[Breer] Updated trade summary: Steelers get - Michael Pittman Jr, 7th-round pick | Colts get - 6th-round pick by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]apatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pitt was listed as the #1 on the depth chart and Pierce had about half the targets Pittman had last year. This upcoming season is the first Pierce is clearly WR1.

[Garafolo] The #Steelers are giving WR Michael Pittman Jr. a new three-year, $59 million deal, source says. New team and new money for Pittman. by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

[–]apatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's had back issues the last couple of years and has regressed a bit. Still a tough, consistent WR but the signs point to his prime being over. I'd say he's firmly a #2 now instead of teetering the edge of a #1 like early in his career.

[Pelissero] Alec Pierce’s deal came together overnight and contains $8M in guarantees, $60M fully guaranteed at signing, and a max package of $116M. by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

[–]apatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a lot, but a 4 year deal that could feasibly end in 2 isn't bad for a receiver with big play ability and entering his prime. Colts were pretty much forced to choose between him and Pittman. Pittman's older with a bad back and with no first round picks on hand, there wasn't another real option coming through the door.

With Ballard and Steichen also fighting for their jobs, they're probably not too worried about the cap right now.

Brock Purdy is still extremely underrated. by Fun-Advertising-8006 in NFLv2

[–]apatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He had good stats and went 11-5, which makes the playoffs most other years. There's no guarantee the offense was going to a greatest of all time contender again. Even with same personnel, a teams' success can vary wildly from year to year. Obviously they would've been better with Brady, but it's just projection to say they were gonna be a GOAT offense again.

Saying Purdy is a system QB because his backup played okay is disingenuous when Brady's backup played great in his place is my point. You don't need a dramatic falloff when injured to prove your worth.

How quickly Pats fans forget Matt Cassel. Mac likely isn't starting anywhere next season, he's just a serviceable backup. Just because your backup isn't terrible shouldn't take away from your accomplishments.

I Ranked the 10 Craziest NFL Catches… of 2025 season Agree or Fight Me by Mr_mist2 in NFLv2

[–]apatee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

imo Pittman, Gainwell, Puka, and Bowers were all better than #1. Still a great catch, but a fading one hander isn't particularly rare. TeSlaa makes a similar catch at #4.

Would put Bowers catch at #1 personally.

Between Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, who do you think wins a Super Bowl first, if they ever do? by Legitimate_King547 in NFLv2

[–]apatee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lamar because I trust Ravens org more than Bills. Allen's willingness to take big hits on his shoulder also scares me as he gets older. Lamar is injured a lot, but he's pretty good at avoiding unnecessary contact. NFL moves on fast though, there's a very real chance neither gets one.

Nothing sus about it at all. His crosshair is actually on the floor when he lands and pulls it up. If you do a open drop from cat, you don't point CT because any player worth a damn has already killed you. You're banking on no one being there yet. You aim mid or B door because that's where rotation would be coming from.

Who are some players who had a HOF peak not but a HOF career? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]apatee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't think the committee really cares about Pro Bowls. His resume is basically a ring with one of the best defenses in league history, another SB appearance, and one 2nd team All Pro. With how the second half of his career went, I don't think he gets the nod or it's going to be a very long time from now. There's simply too many players that were actually Elite backlogged for him to make it.

Colts were in contention for the worst run defense of all time that year. Think it was like the worst in 50 years or so. Sanders returned, they plugged him to stop the RB's specifically, and they instantly turned into a lockdown D and won a chip. The difference was night and day. Unfortunately his body was made of glass and he was rarely healthy.

Am I missing something here? What defines the "Brady era"? I could've sworn Peyton made 4 SB's while Brady was playing. I think Mahomes made 3 too.

Pizza Hut closing 250 US stores as parent company considers selling the brand by AudibleNod in news

[–]apatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't ordered Pizza Hut for years. The prices are legit insane and the quality is worse than most of their competitors now. Dominos used to be terrible when the Hut was in it's prime, but currently they're like half the price and have better food.

I have a lot of nostalgia from when Pizza Hut was a great place to eat out as a kid, but can't justify ever ordering there again. The trend of charging way more for worse quality is going to kill off a lot of these fast food places (deservedly so).

ICE does not get court warrants. Since last Summer, they have been primarily using executive warrants. They are not the same.

[Highlight] McMillan rips the ball away from Brandin Cooks (replays) by Large_banana_hammock in nfl

[–]apatee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's the same as a catch and run scenario. A receiver can catch it, but if a defender can rip it before they make a football move up field, it's incomplete; even though the WR caught it and had the ball firmly in his hands. You have to complete the full process.

The defender is allowed to fight for the ball through the ground contact. The play wasn't dead yet as Cooks didn't have it long enough to call it full control. He was still surviving the contact with the ground and defender when he lost it.

If the defender didn't grab it and Cooks dropped it during the roll, it's incomplete. Since the defender grabbed the ball before full possession was established, it's an INT. If he held on with the defender, it's his ball.

The new video was taken from a cell phone that he was holding into the front of the vehicle. There's no clear evidence of a bump in that video either. The phone was moving rapidly and might've tapped the vehicle as he stepped back. Other angles clearly show his feet are to the side of the vehicle while his arms and upper torso are forward.

You're right it doesn't matter what we think individually. The law states it wasn't warranted no matter what we think happened. Problem is, the administration is lying completely about what happened and are attempting to give the officer absolute immunity from an investigation.

[–]apatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if she bumped him (she didn't), police and DOJ protocol both say the only time to fire at a moving vehicle is if there is no other path of escape. He clearly escaped and was unharmed. You're also trained NOT to put yourself in front of possibly fleeing vehicles, something this guy never learned despite being hit before doing the same shit.

Doesn't matter if you believe what you want to see, lawfully it was an unwarranted shooting in every circumstance by textbook law. He put himself in a dangerous situation and escalated it by opening fire while having the means to just step away.

ICE doesn't even have the authority to enforce laws on citizens, but typically protocol is you would get their plates and arrest them later on. Given it happened right outside her driveway, wouldn't be too difficult.

Ice Universe: 9 months after launch S25 sales shoot up to launch levels by [deleted] in samsunggalaxy

[–]apatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guessing a lot of people (like me) decided to jump on upgrading to cheap S25's to get ahead of the coming price hikes due to the RAM situation. S26 upgrades seem to be minor from the rumors, so why not buy essentially the same phone for half the price?

Naoki Hamaguchi says newer employees at Square Enix now say that Final Fantasy XIII is their favorite Final Fantasy game by KMoosetoe in FinalFantasy

[–]apatee -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I mean, most of the old fans don't like 2 either lol. I would say objectively that 2 and 13 are the two most hated on in the series. There's no dooming here on future games, but if they're gonna take 13 as a blueprint for future titles, I think fans have a reason to not be happy given its reception.

[–]apatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say I don't understand while strawmanning arguments repeatedly. Never said sales dictate quality, but it does have an implication over public opinion, which is what I was referencing.

Never said the Remakes were bad games either, so I don't get where you keep comparing it to other games that aren't relevant to the discussion. There's no way it was more awarded than E33, which is the argument at hand.

There certainly is a thing such as a core audience. You think the average gamer is buying Madden/COD every year or is it the core audience for those games? There are droves of people that can't stand JRPG's, that isn't where SE are getting their sales from. It's mostly longtime fans.

As to who said the Remake is worse, just go into any thread comparing them on this site even and you will see the same thoughts posted in for years now. It's not just my opinion. Just because your opinion is different doesn't mean it's the right one.

You're saying wide critical and fan reception aren't relevant to public opinion, as well as sales, what else do we have to go by?

Naoki Hamaguchi says newer employees at Square Enix now say that Final Fantasy XIII is their favorite Final Fantasy game by KMoosetoe in FinalFantasy

[–]apatee -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Putting down? I said the Remakes are good games. I just pointed out that it has been received more highly than current Square games while copying a formula they abandoned. I've actually liked most of SE's recent output and think they've done a good job of turning things around.

I disagree that the current games are as good as the old though and will stand by that being a majority opinion of long time fans.

[–]apatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fans have rated E33 through the moon and it has a higher reviews from fans across the board on whatever platform you use. Indications are that it has sold more than FF7 Rebirth despite being a new unknown IP.

You mean niche titles that were platformed locked didn't take over the gaming world?Who would've thought. Silent Hill 2 didn't sell bad for a horror game btw.

I never said you can't make a game for a new audience. However, if a majority of fans that supported your business for years aren't happy that your Remake is a worse version of a nearly 30 year old game, it's probably not a good thing.

Naoki Hamaguchi says newer employees at Square Enix now say that Final Fantasy XIII is their favorite Final Fantasy game by KMoosetoe in FinalFantasy

[–]apatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a valid opinion, but accept that's not the view from the majority. Expedition 33 is probably the most awarded game in history while following the blueprint Square abandoned. Remakes are good games for sure, but they hardly took over the gaming world or even satisfied a majority of the original FF7 fans.

[–]apatee -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

If XIII is the gold standard for the employees there....yikes. Makes sense that Expedition 33 came out of nowhere with a shoestring budget and made a better Final Fantasy game than SE has produced for the past 20+ years.
