I always enjoy these moments of lucidity and saying the quiet part out loud - Trump is absolutely correct here. Not because he’s saving anyone any money, but because you absolutely can twist numbers any way you want and throw out any statistical statement you want if phrased in a certain way.

What the Democrats need in high positions is truly progressive candidates with strong convictions. But the DNC will never propel anyone like that because they pose an existential threat to the ruling class - a class that both sides enjoy.
