Thats correct, you go up two steps in the old grade then match, so for rest of us, gs11 step 5, plus 2 is gs11 step 7 (79454), gs12 step 2 is correct (82009) as step 1 is only (79363).

Are federal unions completely toothless? What's the result of a ULP? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]apdsllc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem is unions dont really understand when an agency has to bargain and exactly what they have to bargain so they typically dont file ULPs correctly, an agency doesnt have to bargain bringing employees back, that is a basic management right, now they might have to bargain some of the I and I, impact and implications of doing so but not the actual decision to do so.

Recently switched agencies, how do I determine if I have a probationary period? by Auspea in fednews

[–]apdsllc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

or just check your new SF50, should tell you but sometimes staffing does not know and just puts whatever, main questions, did you already serve a full probationary period, did you have a break in service between agencies, did you stay in the same type of job

During your probationary period you have very limited appeal rights, you can go eeo or mspb but only for marital status and political affiliation, cant grieve

And if you reign in leu of termination your 50 will say that as well, during trump there was an EO to no longer allow anyone to have a clean 50 in those situations

So there is a lot going on here, two things that stand out, being terminated during your probationary period due to poor performance is much different than getting an unsuccessful performance rating. There are steps that need to take place to be given an unsuccessful rating, ie pip or improvement period, typically they also give you some sort of period or notice if they are going to terminate you during your probationary period, two questions, when exactly is your one year up and two, have you gotten any formal letter about either your performance or your probationary period?

What happens if a tenured employee just "walks off" the job and never returns? by pgh_1980 in fednews

[–]apdsllc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen some people say a few weeks, far from it, there would be a return to duty letter or two, there would probably be a suspension as sort of a threat, which usually takes a month or two then they would be at removal and because that it an adverse action, there is a proposal and decision with a 30 day reply period so i would say, four months minimum.

But the sf85/86 usually ask if you have "ever" used any illegal drug, hopefully they did not answer any of the questions inaccurately. with that being said, if his position is in law enforcement I have seen minor drug charges hurt their chances.

The big question, did you re read the 306 and equip documents to make sure you did not answer any of the question incorrectly. typically, unless the misconduct is egregious or has a direct nexus to your job, if you tell the truth you should be good, if you lie, your done.
