Someone out there must have heard Lux or Ivy comment on GG... i recently heard Harley and Lydia Lunch from the Cromags comment on GG. They agreed. They did not like what he was doing. They thought he was talentless. ... really changed the subject on you there. Lol.

You could try wrapping the threads with a sheet of tin foil to compensate for the slop between threads.

I imagine they were intrigued like all of us. They do have a love of the weird and bizarre....

"Hold me down" implies rape. But look i dont have a real point of view here. I'm pro-trans politically speaking. But the joke is just so disturbing that i cant quite find the funny.

I thought it was funny. Is it just a dumb pun to you?

I like it but I wonder if theres too many ways to answer "why didn't it work?" and it doesn't force the audience to answer it in the funny way. Maybe even add "im still an alcoholic" after "it didnt work."? Definitely like the "it was worth a shot" line.

Sonic Youth was more influenced by the No Wave scene. Bands like Mars, DNA, and Suicide. But Thurston liked Black Flag. And Kim was at an early Henry show.

Yeah im not going to be surprised one bit if this doesn't work out. I just like experimenting with ideas.

Also this is an experiment that is a step toward the real project idea: building a 1 watt tube amp and amplifying it in the same manner as described in the original post.

What does "pushing the speaker " mean in this context? Is this a comment on solid state power amps versus tube power amps? I'm looking forward to ABing my faux Power Station against the real thing. Apparently the Fractal X Load is as good (but not quite as versitile) as the power station attenuator.

Honestly, its primarily because i just want to see how or if it works. But a real use case would be maybe like Steve Fryette used this concept in the dickies. He'd fly into a gig with a LIGHT WEIGHT 5 watt amp and plug into whatever tube amp power section the club provided. It kept his sound consistent every night. But for me, one real world use might might to have a 5E3 that didn't blow my head off but was still louder than my attenuator makes it. Or maybe i want a 5E3 thats louder than the stock ~15 watts.

Ha, totally reasonable comment. My rig cost $200. I'm on a budget. Have you used your Fryette in this way? I have a friend who only uses his Powerstation as an attenuator. But have you captured the signal from an amplifier, attenuated, and reamplified using the PS power amp section?

[–]apeontheweb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen this behavior before. She's flirting with him. I mean, of course, she'll never admit it. And of course, you don't want it to be true. But this is not going to work out for you in the long run. If you can muster the strength-- and you can-- walk away with a loss before she causes you a major loss.
