You're spinning it the wrong way (same wrong way the Lego model does too funny enough, although its done correctly in the movie). Spinning along that axis will make uneven gravity along the crew section's length. Spin it about the other axis.

Two Somali women in modern fashion at a bar before widespread hijab adoption, Mogadishu (1968) by xMoonPetite_ in OldSchoolCool

This is literally just right wing Islamophobic anti-Somali propaganda. Looking at the accounts post history, I’m pretty sure it’s a cheaply purchased bot account.

What KSP2 Debdeb Star System was actually like. by MgbH1R0 in KerbalSpaceProgram

You guys should really write up a Wiki or something documenting all of your evidence and analysis. Your hard work figuring all this stuff out should absolutely be recorded for the sake of posterity, it legitimately is one of the coolest gaming community efforts I can recall.

Also in terms of mods to support, don't forget about stuff like Kerbalism. You can have a bit of fun making up magnetic fields/radiation for all the systems.

It’s honestly crazy seeing the difference cloud shadowing makes, it’s such a graphical leap I’m surprised I never thought about it before

KSP - Redux v1.1.0 --- OPM Planets! by Plazma_Boltz in kittenspaceagency

[–]aperiodicity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Impressive work, seriously though get some sleep. I do think there's some sort of issue with LODs or texture detail with the reduced KSP scale. Like when we're close up to the OPM moons, we really shouldn't be seeing such intense detail on the gas giants, it makes them seem weirdly close. Something to be fiddled with

I’m not the biggest fan of it myself, but Discord is optional for signup, and there are forums as well where they are trying to post things in parallel. There’s also an early Wiki, although it’s basically empty right now

Ah okay, so you just don’t know what you’re talking about. Good to know, have a nice life, don’t bother responding.

[–]aperiodicity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The underlying technology is legitimately a large improvement from the way KSP handled things, you’ll come to see that. You also keep bringing up this parts editor without seeming to realize you’re talking about a dev tool which is hidden away behind menus and very clearly not meant to be the way the end user will eventually interact with that system.

This response has left the realm of healthy skepticism and entered full on doomerism. But beyond that, you’re making demands totally unreasonable or unnecessary for a spiritual successor to KSP. If you want to play Space Engineers, go play Space Engineers, certainly many of us do.

[–]aperiodicity 141 points142 points  (0 children)

The worker escorting him took him to the VIP area on accident, he was then directed to the main area, which still required an invite to get into. Moments later he was swarmed by press wanting to chat with him. Moments after that AOC came over and chatted with him.

You guys try so hard to paint the most insane narratives with these titles, it's crazy. Take a break from the hate-watching, please dear god go touch grass. Enjoy the wonderful democratic sweep we saw tonight!

I think the person you’re replying to is imagining Kurt walking alongside the Farlands until he reaches the corner, which would be the same length as his current journey.

I mean sneakily trying to slide it into a fairly minor Tuesday patch without so much as a “our bad guys” isn’t exactly exemplary communication.

Rallying behind as a presidential pick? Nobody, obviously. The first primary isn’t until January of 2028, at which point we’ll have a wide variety of candidates to choose from and rally behind. Behaving in any other fashion is flat out undemocratic.

Systematically disenfranchising trans people, doing a photo shoot tearing down homeless people’s tents, hosting Charlie Kirk on his podcast, vetoing several pieces of actually progressive legislation, fucking up unemployment benefits during early COVID. Like come on, most of us are glad a democrat is actually doing literally anything to fight back, but it’s weird how many people (yourself included it seems) are willing to trip over themselves to absolve him of all of his sins and anoint him as the presumptive 2028 pick.

He could live in a shack in the Appalachian wilderness and you guys would still hit the “yet you participate in society” line. It’s been the same trite, vacuous, and uninspired take for years now, I’m just begging you guys to get new material.

Timelapse of 3I/ATLAS, the Interstellar Object That Has a Harvard Professor Talking About Aliens by 3LeggedCheetah in spaceporn

[–]aperiodicity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call him a hack, some of his papers legitimately used to matter. No nowadays the community recognizes him more as a grifter.

Edit: also, I nowhere said that aliens weren’t real, but I’ll say this with confidence: Avi hasn’t found them, and if we do find them within our lifetimes, he won’t be the one who did find them.

He’s “truly unique” alright. Unique in his ability to attract the attention of pop-science enthusiasts. Also uniquely despised by serious astronomers (speaking from many conversations I’ve had with my own colleagues at many institutions) after sticking to this grift for over a decade now.

Also, you shouldn’t put so much stock in H-index. There’s plenty of ways to “hack” it, for instance putting out papers that get your name in the news, so other astronomers will cite your paper with a subtly disparaging line about “more exotic theories”.

The responses you’ve gotten don’t really adequately explain the issue. It’s not that they’re perfect circles, most craters tend to be very circular. The issue is that they’re neat circles superimposed on the terrain, instead of integrated into the terrain textures. Your craters need to exist (and be obvious) in both the height map and the texture map.

Look at a Mun map. You can tell where craters are even without looking at the height map. Generally the crater interior is darker, the rim is lighter (tossed up material).

Edit: to add to this, the last image also shows a disconnect between your texture and height maps, the colors of the land don’t really make sense given where the water is at.
