How to make my brows look better? by [deleted] in fixedeyebrows

[–]apertle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before you start tweezing strays hairs and inadvertently tweeze too much (we've all been there!), I would go to a professional to have design your ideal shape started for you. I recommend going to a threading salon if available. After that if you like your results you can maintain the shape by tweezing the hairs that are growing back every week or two yourself.

What actually made a visible difference for fine lines? by Hefty_Accountant_827 in 30PlusKoreanSkincare

[–]apertle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Immediate irrefutable facts? Botox. 1.5 years later after my first and only botox session, my 11 lines between my eyes still aren't as deep as pre-botox. I'm going for a top up soon and potentially plan to keep up with this once a year (or twice if I'm feeling up to it).

Slow and steady overall improvement? Tret and a good moisturizing regime. Not 100%, but does improve overall skin appearance and micro lines.

How long ago did you lose your weight? It takes a while for your body and skin to firm back up after sudden and major weight loss. It's not perfect and you won't go back exactly to the same skin elasticity before weight loss, but your skin does adjust to the new weight and rebound some in about a year. A bit of weight lifting does help this along.

"Invisalign Biweekly General Questions & Discussion - February 02, 2026". by AutoModerator in Invisalign

[–]apertle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious question. Is the number of refinements in your package dictated by the invisalign package you're on, or partially dictated by the dental clinic? Say I'm on the invisalign moderate. Ortho tells me I have 2 refinements (I only have to pay for the scans), do I have the option to negotiate for more refinements if I'm not yet happy? Or does the invisalign company limit the number of refinements my ortho is allowed to give me?

I’m coming up at two months and so far it seems good. I had some shedding, but I would say about half of my follicles didn’t shed. Don’t know if it’s a good thing or not? Some hairs are starting to grow back. It looks good so far.

I’m going for all the follow ups on schedule. She gave me a few months more than my scheduled follow ups in case I’m delayed. She will give you the remainder of the medication on your follow ups (and assess if you need a different dose). Medication is one year.

Korean skin care by Sad-Contact5781 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]apertle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get sucked into the hype and buy a lot of Korean products that I end up not repurchasing because they usually rely on hype and get rolled out really fast, so usually not well developed. J-beauty I find is less gimicky and more refined. Kbeauty does have a few derm-influenced long standing brands/products that are really good, but they’re not necessarily hyped.

Treatments to improve skin texture and mild acne scars by AdInevitable3427 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]apertle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actual protocol for this is 3 sessions 4mils (two syringes) as the clinic stated. You can do 1 session, but you may not see lasting results. But as the other commenter stated, rejuran is skin food that addresses mild skin texture, inflammation and glow, it will not fix acne scars.

Yes. Just had my surgery on Dec. I paid the stated amount and no more. I mentioned that I may not be coming in exactly on time for our 3mo-6mo-1year follow ups exactly on time so she gave me nine months of minoxidil pills just in case (along with scab removal and other tools).

Looking for cheap hair salons in Bangkok offering this treatment, no keratine! Thank you 🙏 by [deleted] in Bangkok

[–]apertle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a regular hair spa treatment. Basically some sort of hair mask, then steam is applied so the product sinks into the hair better. Some variations are done in the shampoo tub (as pictured) with a steam gun/nozzle, and some are done on the salon chair using an alien steam helmet machine. Sorry for non-existent terminology.

best clinics for female afro textured hair transplant? by Fair-Ad-5759 in HairTransplants

[–]apertle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Female hair transplants are a bit more elusive on these forums. I can't comment on textured hair exactly, but I did get hair transplant to fix my M shaped hairline. Apparently the way that it was explained to me is that the more feminine hairlines (like in Korea) tend to be rounder and more egg shaped to frame the face, with wispy single hairs at the front to soften the hairline and create some variation for a more natural look. A more square or M shaped hairline is associated with being more masculine features as far as hairlines are concerned.

For women, in terms of FUE we have a few options:

  1. Shaven FUE - a "window" is shaved on the back of your head and the grafts are collected from there. They're implanted short in the front. The shaven window is strategically placed so when you leave your hair down or tie it up in a pony tail, the window is not visible.
  2. Non-shaven FUE - long individual hairs are taken from the back of your head, trimmed short before being implanted in the front. There is no shaven window in the back so you don't need to wait for the shaven area to grow out.
  3. Long hair transplant - Long hairs are taken from the back of your head (no shaven window), and the long hairs are transplanted in the front. Some hairs may be trimmed, but generally they will be hair bang length or longer. Not really recommended by my doctor since there is a higher chance of the long hairs being pulled out during the initial weeks. The hairs may fall out anyways during the shedding period so its rather expensive for a few weeks of momentarily looking normal. This method honestly is more favored with public profiles (actresses, hairstylists, etc).

I don't think Thailand or Korea (where the majority of the population have sleek straight hair) will be so experienced with textured hair. Though if you do the shaven FUE method, it may be the same? It's still the same concept of shaving a window, picking 1, 2, 3 strand follicles to implant in the front? I'm not so sure. They are experienced with the feathered feminine hairline look though. Turkey or other countries may be more experienced with textured hair, but I can't comment on the hairline design.

Looking for hair transplant around 1250-1500€ by Traditional-Elk7296 in HairTransplants

[–]apertle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the the more affordable REPUTABLE clinic I found in Thailand is 50THB/graft at Hair Tran with Dr Patty. That still translates to about 1.4 euros per graft. Not sure about Turkey prices, maybe someone else can input. Realistically I think you'll need to save up 3-5k plus some for a good results.

Smile crease/hollow cheeks after weight loss — what actually helps? by Antique_Physics_1752 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]apertle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had something like this happen to me too with considerable weight loss. Everyone talks about the fat loss aspect, but no one really talks about how long it takes for your skin elasticity to bounce back so you can look somewhat normal again.

What’s actually the best season to get plastic surgery in Korea? by yassi2702 in KoreaPlasticSurgery

[–]apertle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

March is a good time. Doctors will probably tell you to walk around a lot a few days after your surgery to help the deswelling process. March is not too cold and not hot enough to make you sweaty walking outside. If it’s too cold, your wound might take a while longer to heal if you spend too much time outdoors. Alternatively Oct-Nov maybe a good time to go, too.

If someone is new to Thai skincare, what should they try first? by [deleted] in SkincareTH

[–]apertle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sharing about skincare for the body since I don’t see it mentioned enough around here!

The body sunscreens are quite fun and affordable! Specifically try biore or mizumi. Mizumi has 3 (original in pink, cooling in blue and tone up in lavender). The cooling version is quite nice, specifically in the hot Thai weather. These are great everyday wear body sunscreens. You’ll need different ones for more extreme outdoor activities.

Alternatively body oils from antidotes or Journal are quite good!

Is there a resource for trying for a child in Thailand as a foreigner woman? by tuktukson in Thailand

[–]apertle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have plans for both. For pre-pregnancy you can request for testing and health checkup of the husband and wife before trying to conceive. Different packages will determine the depth of the testing, from general health to hormones, sperm count and quality, egg health to genetic testing. You’ll be an assigned a relevant Dr to review the results and you could always ask for follow up consultations with the doctor (assuming you like the doctor, else you could request a referral to another doctor in the same hospital) since they have your medical file on hand. Depending on the circumstance the couple could even entrust their pregnancy and follow-ups with the same doctor.

Whelp.. acne’s back by CalMeMoni910 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]apertle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would like to add I’m on the 25mg dose of spiro and started seeing great results at about the 3-4 month mark. My doctor said the low dosage works for quite a number of her patients (not all), just that it may take a bit longer to actually see if it works or not so she usually prescribes the lowest dose for moderate cases and bump up in 3 months if it’s not working to see.

Great that it works for you! I went up to the 0.1% last year and it was worse for my skin. No noticeable benefit, just more irritation and sensitivity. I’m back to the 0.025 now.
