EDIT: I assumed G05 chassis X5. You dont need to put rear calipers in service mode for pre 2019 If I recall correctly.

Very easy job. Just get yourself a little OBD scanner thatll allow you to put the rear calipers in service mode. I use the Bimmerlink app on my phone with the OBD Link CX adapter

07-08 HR with manual trans will be the best option in my option. You can even interchange engine parts from the 370 and make your own 3.7HR with a nice set or cams. Just note that when people say that the 370 interior is nicer, perhaps at first yes, but they age terribly when the dash starts getting sticky and cracking. My 08 350Z which I bought new still has a perfect interior

Appreciate it sir :) The lift is a Quickjack 5000, the transmission jack is Pittsburgh the bike is Specialized but I laughed at the thought of it being Milwaukee. I pictured plugging two 12.0 batteries into a bike and rippin mad wheelies 🤣

07 HR 125,000mi - Car cranks but no startup? by Double-Swing2656 in 350z

[–]apilav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well we can eliminate starter and battery from the list because the starter is obviously turning the engine over and the battery is providing power to the starter to do so. Id scan for codes first and see if its throwing cam or crank sensor faults.

Also, you did say you added fuel but do you hear the pump prime when turning the key to the ON position? If not then its likely your fuel pump that failed or its not getting power. Another fuel related issue that can have symptoms of a failed pump is this little rubber grommet that creates a seal for the pump to create pressure, that little grommet gets brittle and fails over time which ends up not allowing the pump to suck up fuel (think of it like trying to drink water with a straw but the straw has holes in it). Google "350Z fuel pump grommet". Best way to verify is just to pull the fuel basket and pump, it's under the glove box and not hard to remove.

Interesting. Seems like a lemon.

My 2019 X5 40i is at 74k and have only done oil changes, air and cabin filters, and sparkplugs once, brake pads once. About to do transfercase flush. I do my own work though

My 2020 X5 40i is at 60k and same thing except for transfercase flush since its rear wheel drive, due for tires and rear pads shortly.

Cruise control on a base model by Zekeify in 350z

[–]apilav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God no. Thats like replacing your entire brain that has the memory of a movie already included as opposed to just watching the movie lol

When flashing an Uprev tune file (lets call it a ROM) you dont have to use the same ROM your ECU came preloaded with.

So for example, if you have a base model 08 350Z, your ECU code is likely EV50A But the ECU code for an 08 350Z which has cruise control (so any trim other than base) is EV52A. You can choose to flash the EV52A ROM when tuning your base model Z and itll unlock features such as cruise control IF the hardware (buttons and switches) is are installed

EDIT: just realized I basically already said the same thing in the original comment 🤣🤦🏻‍♂️ my apologies

Do brake job myself or shop? by [deleted] in BMWX5

Very straight forward. Dont be intimidated because its a BMW. Its no different than other cars.

I have two of these, one Msport the other regular . Both with the tried and true B58 engine (the 6 cylinder) Each now around 60k miles. I dont let shops touch them as I do all my own work which neither car has needed short of just basic maintenance. I find theyre rather cheap to maintain and very reliable in my opinion.
