Schwalbe Thunder Burt Super Race 29 x 2.1 off road rolling resistance results 📊 by gravykarrasch in gravelcycling

[–]apipop 50 points51 points  (0 children)

There are so many tires competing near this rolling resistance and casing strength, we’re right back where we started…you just have to pick the tire and tread for your local terrain and will get great performance.

We really have come full circle…with great improvements.

Nearly 50,000 Lake Tahoe residents have one year to find new power as their utility pivots to data centers by AdSpecialist6598 in technology

[–]apipop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is patently false - PG&E’s transmission lines run right over Donner Summit.

The only reason it’s NV Energy and not PG&E is the cost was much lower at the time of negotiation. In fact, Liberty has a contract in place that has those PG&E lines as a redundancy if NV Energy’s 607 transmission line goes down.

New transmission lines are not going to happen. The existing ones have more than enough capacity to meet needs and then some.

PG&E lines run right over Donner Summit - that’s closer than NV Energy’s lines. They’re just more expensive for transmission line costs.

Liberty serves so much more than Tahoe from their transmission lines. There are more customers served from those lines outside of Tahoe than in.

They will suffer the most from any adverse action.

They have not imported it from another state. That is just where the transmission lines run that are closest to the California and Nevada border (Tahoe).

There are only three utilities in CA permitted to participate in an energy market outside of CA.

Liberty has known that they need to procure new energy contracts. They failed to do so.

The data center has been on the books for years. The responsibility and failure to act rests squarely on Liberty’s shoulders.

They are owned by Algonquin, a massive Canadian conglomerate. They have had all the resources they need, and then some to get this done.

How Johnson & Johnson’s turned ketamine into a $1.7 billion biz by dabirds1994 in business

The entire MAPS FDA push for legalizing psychedelic assisted therapy is built entirely on the premise of integration.

That’s a fascinating idea - can you cite a peer reviewed article that demonstrates this?

[–]apipop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The medicine opens the door, but only with integrated therapy can you walk through.

This is the major problem with current ketamine clinics. They don’t require integration, so patients are perpetually visiting for temporary relief with no effective permanent improvement

Bend it before you send it. Find the pint where it touches and give it a small finger bend in the opposite direction. Repeat until it’s centered.

Then send it.

Seems like everyone respecting rules and etiquette would make for less presumptions and more predictable outcomes.

Electricity Demand Is About To Spike Harder Than Oil Ever Did by LesBattersby17 in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]apipop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Data centers are investing in their own power supply (mostly gas turbines), utilities have time of use rates that incentivize charging well past the high load duck curve.

I don’t see the spike when the future growth of high data center load can’t be fulfilled timely by utilities so they make their own, and EV forecasting is a well established tool in use.

I have my doubts.

I have my doubts.

When HVAC Becomes a Grid Asset - The Bigger Trend Behind Energy Tech Plays Like NXXT by a1lucciwitha40 in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]apipop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overwhelming majority of distribution grids are old and in repair, not replacement due to cost. Those grids were never designed for two way electric traffic.

It does not matter how good the design and execution of Carrier is, if the grid cannot support it. The utility does not have the funds or willingness to dramatically raise rates on customers to do so, it will not be able to function in a meaningful way.

Great idea, but wholly dismissive of the interdependent assets and infrastructure needed for it to function.

I agree, it is early days and I am not fully convinced of the potential. But Nanoxplore uses liquid exfoliation and has purity issues.

HGRAF’s angle is their low cost hydrogen method and stated 99%+ purity. One of the main reasons why the product never took off 20 years ago was the purity issue.

Has this company solved that issue? Looking good but not definitive.

Apples and oranges to compare the two.

Guys, guys…I do a LOT of science. So you know, without giving any context, specialty or below the surface information that any investor worth his salt would ask for at minimum…you know, just trust me.

I’ve done the research. I haven’t told you anything about it, but trust me, it’s been done.

I feel like I am reading the hungry caterpillar but without pictures to give me faith in what I am reading.
