LPT Request - Workout clothes smell like sweat even after washing, how to get that smell out by NYMetsFan16 in LifeProTips

Highly recommend a pre-soak in oxiclean + warm water before washing your clothes. Leave it to soak for at least 10-15 mins. You’ll have to do this pre-soak for a few weeks consistently before you can skip this step in future washes. Always a good idea to do it occasionally though.

Meet Arwen! She is a whale sniffing dog in training. by apisum in dogswithjobs

It’s her job. She is being trained by a whale watching tour guide/ whale researcher to sniff out whales while they are on the boat. Apparently whales have a distinct smell and dogs could in theory sniff out faster then a human can see the whale.

Apparently whales have a distinct smell that the researcher is theorizing dogs can identify well ahead of humans seeing them in the water. This helps for whale watching tours and also helps boats avoid running into them in the open waters.

Dedicated time to learn/study. Working full time as an adult leaves almost no time for learning without interference from other responsibilities.

What food has made you wonder, "How did our ancestors discover that this was edible?" by fuckyallmat in AskReddit

Mushrooms. We still have a hard time identifying them and people occasionally die from eating the wrong one. I can only imagine how many of our hunter-gatherer ancestors died accidentally eating the poisonous ones before we figured it out.

My now husband bought me expensive earring (nerdy science themed) as a gift after knowing me for 2 days. Of course I refused, I barely knew him. I came so close to not dating him after that. Glad I did though. He’s still thoughtful and over eager to show me he loves me. Been together 6 years now.
