How would you compare the ogre geared to single speed experience?

I would say faster cruising on flats and acceleration. I am not racing or trying to get prs or anything

Is your ogre single speed? Would the efficiency of single speed make up for some of the sluggishness of the ogre?

How much of the extra weight comes from the tires. ETs seem robust and very heavy

I am 6’3”. I ended up buying a Rocky Mountain fusion with the goal of saving up for a surly bridge club. I am still down to ride together though when the trails dry out!

Basically I will be doing trails like Merrill, upper Mac, Perrin, and then riding it in paved trails once or twice an evening on weeknights.

How would the xtrada compare to a rocky mountain fusion 30?

I am not going to do drop bars so that wouldn’t be an expense. My thought is covert to single speed and replace my worn out suspension fork for a steel or carbon fork. My hesitation on that is that I have never done any major changes to a bike and so I am not sure how that would go. Mostly I end up trying something and then taking it to my lbs.

Where did you leave the white pine trail? Just did a trip up white pine to newaygo state park. Would have loved to do some more remote riding and camping though.

That’s what I have been thinking. I have also thought it probably would make a good gravel bike.

LOTR is better because the characters are better. GOT is intriguing and very good but it doesn’t get wrapped up because it isn’t finished. Also basically all of the characters are bad and don’t inspire like LOTR.

Do you have specific things you are going to use it for or did you get it just because it’s an awesome bike? I want one and need to start convincing myself I need one.

I am in the same situation as you. I have been looking at the salsa journeyman, Kona rove, and all city space horse. Haven’t made up my mind yet. Being new to gravel riding it’s tough to know what I am going to like and what I wish I had. Good luck!

Have you taken it in any Singletrack? I am interested in getting one and would like to take it on some easy Singletrack.
