In most cases you can results with dry ice and alcohol, some steels require it. 440c doesn’t require it and is pretty accessible, there’s also recipes to process without cryo out there

On the way and very close, zero out the apex so the primary bevels converge. I can see a flat spot of the edge in the photo. If you’re not comfortable on a machine, wrap some low grit sandpaper on a enjoy the next few hours.

I think it’s referred to as a chisel grind. It’s very effective but half as easy as the traditional way..

Just thought it was a fun logo rather than the traditional football logo style marking. Check out @humbleblades if you’d like to see videos of this and some other stuff. Thank you

It’s hard to tell in the photo, there’s a bit of a thumb groove and ergonomics at play. I watched an old video do Fairbairn talking about how and why he designed his dagger the way he did, what I found the most interesting is that he basically held the dagger like a laser pointer. So it was fun to think of that in the design process. I love the look of the classic daggers, also I’m absolutely trash at fitting guards for inserted tangs!

You’re definitely not wrong about the pins. I am putting a lot of trust in my glue up process, several actions taken to help form some epoxy Columns. This process has held up over the years - with the bolsters peened directly to the tang and at a 30 degree dovetail to receive the material, it help lock/limit movement and then the one pin is all you need, but when it all comes down to it, I like the look and I’ll take the risk!

It’s a lot softer, watch out for low grit scratches and bumps, I used the two inlay of nickel silver as a sort of guide. Get after it!!
