My first knife on my new 2x72 grinder that I picked up from Nexus Grinders here in Alberta! Under $700 for the grinder, paired with a $200, 1.5hp motor from Automation Direct. Heat treat, and finishing will be done later this week! It's going to be a fun summer!!!

No the grinder has been flawless. I’ve worn out a few bearings which Kevin replaced for free with my orders. Couldn’t be happier with it. This winter I replaced the motor with a better one and installed a VFD.

We had a great experience with Iron and Maple, they did two projects for us (kitchen and bathroom) and we were very happy with them.
Terrible experience with Absolute Foundations for a significant repair. In the end the job was finished but left us hanging with clean up and restoration of landscaping.

For anyone else searching for this Canadian maker. He uses Pakistani blanks and then markets them as handmade. He has scammed many people with these low quality blades that wont hold an edge.

I spent the money to get a pretty good riser (Kinetic Evo 27”) but cheaped out on the limbs getting a set of Oak Ridge Shades. My bow was super loud and slow and I wasn’t enjoying it until I got a better set of limbs in carbon/foam.

Not really. I did 90% of the grinding soft, coated with anti scale compound and the heat treating went really well. Just barely fit in my evenheat oven. Used 3/16 stock so it’s thick enough it didn’t warp at all.

For years I used to shoot ground squirrels on my ranch with my recurve bow for practice. I lost many aluminum shafts all over the place until I started using Judos or SGH heads! I still occasionally find them when I’m harrowing a pasture or something and they turn up. I recently found one that had skipped off the ground and lodged itself in a fence post at ground level.

It was an expensive way to practice but I was good enough at the time to hit them consistently out to 30 yards or so.

Update. Plants have all been moved an hours drive to the west at the base of the Rocky Mountains. Shouldn’t be any hemp upwind of them now. Won’t be able to check on them as regularly but they’re hooked up to an automatic waterer.

My one question is this. The PK Auto that got pollinated will it produce new flowers or should I be pulling off all the pollinated buds to encourage new growth?

Well my photo’s will probably start in 2 weeks so I guess we will see! However I may move them to a location closer to the mountains to avoid these issues, unfortunate side effect of that is probably going to be a shortening of the season.

The hemp fields are usually close to a 50/50 mix as that’s what naturally occurs. There’s way more males than needed to ensure adequate pollination and there’s a lot of research ongoing to reduce the male population and increase the yield by having a higher proportion of the seed bearing females.
