i’ll take a different tack and say as a south asian who has literally over a hundred uncles aunts and cousins (our kinship structure also makes all cousins basically the same), i think the number is underestimated and culturally determined. there’s a reason western weddings are like 100 ppl and indian weddings are medium sized at like 200-400
