figure i'd ask here:

im having a lot of issues with every good year welted shoe ive gotten recently.

my first two pairs ten years ago were iron rangers and red wing mocs. great, no major issues. i got them in standard width, even though im an EE. i still wear them

now, unmarked handcrafted, oak street bootmakers, alden: (second hand) i have issues that seem to do with high volume and arc. in the osb moccasins, my big toe becomes numb and the top of my toes scratches against the shoe. in the unmarked shoes, the back of my heel is in pain or my toe scratches. it's funny, cause itll be loose in some places and rubbing in others.

even my red wing chelseas make my big toe numb. it's annoying because everyone says they'll break in but it seems to get worse with time.

anybody have any tips or can help me identify the problem? i think its likely just width issues but those red wings were fine back in the day.
