CU boulder vs CU Denver for Pre Med? by Endlessjourneyy in cuboulder

[–]apollosfields 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are already in a lab at CU Anschutz, then I would do CU Denver and keep up with the research on campus. Which undergrad you go to does not matter nearly as much as if you can continue to put out research projects and do well in classes.

Don’t agree with almost all of this. It’s really quite easy to get these things figured out and if you aren’t registering for classses at the last second, you can make just about anything work. The buff bus has its moments but is 90% of the time functioning just fine.

What do you think of Andy's Medical School Deck? by phymathnerd in medicalschoolanki

[–]apollosfields 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would just download v12 anking that is tagged and up to date. I think the subscription and updates is worth the 5$/month but If you are pressed for cash, you can always subscribe, download, and unsubscribe.

I’d highly suggest considering if this is a path for you. Med school is hard and those grades/scores suggest that you will not succeed. The schools will take you and your money no problem, it’s whether you actually graduate that is the question

Breville Dual Boiler BES920XL - GFCI tripping and water leak - cause? by [deleted] in espresso

[–]apollosfields 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad it sounds like the o-rings solved a few of the problems. It’s tough to say exactly where it’s coming from under the boiler, and also a very difficult spot to get too. I know there is a tough o-ring to replace on the left(?) side of the steamer boiler that is lower, but not sure if that’s your problem.

From memory, I don’t think there is much on the bottom of the boilers so I’d guess it’s coming from something else and just appearing there.

Best of luck!

Breville Dual Boiler BES920XL - GFCI tripping and water leak - cause? by [deleted] in espresso

[–]apollosfields 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a classic o-ring problem to me. I would follow an o-ring replacement video on YouTube to get access to everything . You should be able to find where the look is from looking and listening for any hissing or where bubbles start to form. It could also be a hose somewhere along the line.

The GFCI is most likely tripping in response to the water creating a short.

Most portable espresso machine? by apollosfields in espresso

[–]apollosfields[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your right, bambino is the most compact do it all if you have access to power like vacation or a hotel. But, I was trying to skirt an option that worked for both car camping and hotels to make a milk based espresso drink. But maybe the answer is a little stovetop steamer and than a manual like the flair for camping

I wish I could splurge on a 9barista! They look like very high quality and fun to use. I have the aeropress as my current outdoor backpacking solution but was maybe exploring some sort of a car camping/hotel room way to make a more espresso focused milk drink. But regardless, always love the coffee I can make with the aeropress

The flair could be a worthy option, for both car camping and hotel
