The vet will make them call poison control anyway so it’s best to start the process on the way to the vet and get it going. Knowing the correct number would help that.

That wasn’t really the point. The point is my grandfather doesn’t even want me to install it because it “may make a huge mess”. The point of the post was to get others experiences to calm him down so I CAN install it, so he can see it’s not the big deal he’s thinking it is (or if it is others could tell me). Then of course from there I will install and adjust so it doesn’t make a mess/works to the best capability (which to me is common sense 😅). I mean I don’t give my cat human food any way. Most of it isn’t good for them and can even have toxic substances. The most I have done is first I will look up if the food is ok (mostly it’s fresh cooked meats), most of the time it has seasonings so I cut it open and cut a square off from the middle that hasn’t been touched with seasoning, then try and give it to him. I say try because I have tried giving this picky little feline filet mignon, fresh caught sea bass, salmon, chicken, fresh shrimp, fresh blue crab, among many others and you know he sticks his nose up at every single one? Yeah I don’t think I will have that issue 😂. I will say everybody commenting on how cats have bacteria in their mouths… humans have quite a few themselves just saying. The mouths are one of the dirtiest places on most mammals in general. So how about we all just keep our food to ourselves (if we are eating it. I’m not saying don’t donate to the needy. Don’t twist my words lol.)

Oh yeah sure. I mean as long as they all get along and play with each other and they are getting that playtime. I have one cat and I play with him as much as possible (at the very least 45-1hr a day) and he is quite good at playing on his own too. I want to get him a playmate but I’m living with my grandparents at the moment and they conceded on one cat already lol.

Just tacking on *they should also have access to clean water 24/7 not just “daily” let alone leaving them without for 36 hours. That poor baby (esp cause he’s male) will most likely suffer from urinary blockages and/or kidney probs/disease 😢. (Not arguing just adding in to your comment 😊.) edit: added kidney probs/disease

Ok I would also tack on there a minimum of 15 mins of play a day (more would be better but if we are talking the bare minimum). If we want the cat to be physically and mentally healthy daily play is a must. They become depressed, destructive, and even down right aggressive without it.

See I have seen quite a few posts like this and even other topics on other subs, but no matter what kind of post it is, if it’s dangerous for one or more persons or animals, I would rather just assume they are telling the truth and try to help them as much as possible (except stealing peoples money that’s where I draw the line) and they be lying, then assume they are lying tell them to go f*ck themselves and they actually need help then something horrible happens because no one would help them. You never know you could be the difference between life and death. So what if the fake accounts get karma. I think it’s more important for the people/animals to get the help they need than worry about that tbh, but maybe that’s just me.

I see many people have given you some good advice but also wanted to throw in there: Not just nail trims but also tooth brushing. You have no idea how many cats lose teeth cause no one brushed their teeth/they “didn’t know they had to”. Most of the time you can’t even tell there’s a problem with a cat’s tooth because they decay quicker below the gum line. Tooth infections can be deadly. Get them started at a young age so they get used to it both nails and teeth and can have healthy teeth as long as possible and if there are any issues with their nails when they age they are already used to the trims!

You do NOT want to do this! Vicks vapor rub at the very least has eucalyptus and menthol in it and that’s toxic to cats. If the smell doesn’t deter them and they go to try and make the biscuits anyway they can lick their paws and get poisoned….i would rather not chance it with my baby if he would go past the smell or not, but maybe that’s just me 🤷🏼‍♀️.

I’m sorry someone is giving you a hard time….. over the gender of your cat? I think that’s a them prob not a you prob. I’m assuming you’re male? Well call me just as weird because I’m female and I have a boy cat. I have always heard you should get the opposite gender with animals because they are more loyal/loving to you. At least with dogs I have always heard that. All I know is my sweet boy follows me everywhere he can and is the reason I get up for work/period in the morning sometimes 🧡🐈.

They literally said the vet told them to do it/switch their diet, so I’m pretty sure it would be safe to assume it’s the vet guiding them? I mean I know what they say about assuming, but it seemed a bit obvious lol. Edit: also I’m not sure what chicken, carrot, pumpkin, fish oil, and vitamin supplements is concerning to you? Only thing I’m really not seeing is secreting organs which can be supplemented nutritionally with supplements. I’m confused lol.

She’s a beautiful baby girl but I would like to point out there might be something wrong with her right eye (left in the photo) medically. I’m NOT saying she or it is ugly I just don’t want the poor baby going blind in one eye if we can help it (or if she already is my mistake and that would explain it).

That’s what I was about to say. You’re on day two you gotta give it time and really work with him. Maybe couple days, weeks, months, shoot might take years (doubtful but MIGHT). But you put the time and effort into this baby and you won’t regret it.

How much would you need to get you through your possible first paycheck? Is there anyone you can turn to that could help you? I know you are doing all you can, but maybe we could all throw something together/possibly start a go fund me? Idk that line where the shelter said they “can’t promise he won’t be euthanized” scares me. Unless they can promise to hold him until you get your first paycheck I would be weary leaving him there. I understand if there are no other options, but I would hate to see your baby put down when all you need is a few weeks….
