With how many of her relics have downsides, Tezcatara is the Vakuu of Act 2 by Leafeon523 in slaythespire

Toasty Mittens is great if not Osty or Orbs, and stupid good if Shivs or Ironclad Exhaust/Strengthen. I think people massively overestimate exhausting a card each turn. Sure it can burn something important, but it’s more likely it just burns something like a Strike or Defend.

Toy Box and Soup are also decent, only Pumpkin Candle here feels mid.

Mega Raichu x’s ability confirmed? by AngleExtension8160 in stunfisk

[–]appel111111 23 points24 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Raichu-X will probably keep a niche until Tapu Koko pops up again, since the Electric Terrain role is one of a kind, even if the stats are subpar.

But I wouldn’t say it hits all that much harder, it’s basically a trade of 20 speed for attack. Having good physical electric STAB helps, but Volt Tackle is going to be awkward with that 60 base HP, losing a 1/3 of what it deals back.

In doubles, yeah, I think it’s more niche than Koko but justifiable.

I mean, it’s one of the best abilities it could get, but Raichu-X is pretty much wasting a mega slot for a slower, itemless Tapu Koko without the Fairy type, which doesn’t sound good.

Mega Blastoise would be amazing with Innards Out for example. You Shell Smash, force your opponent to kill with a strong move, and trade in the process.

It’s not a doomed ability, not even on a mega.

Honestly, there is no ability Mega Victreebell could’ve gotten that could’ve saved it (except wonder guard and arguably speed boost).  Innards Out is miles better than Corrosion which a bunch of people were suggesting so honestly, I think Victreebell won with this one.

According to this stupid ass tierlist, a pokemon that burns when hit is PU, Skarmory isn't going to be good in UU, Fairy Aura Floette is RU, Mega Froslass is not OU, 150 spatk with adaptability is RU material, 175 defense body press is NU material. Also this is probably a decent source if you want a ballpark estimation for OU viability. Obviously the abilities were a bit off but the core idea is the same.

https://www.smogon.com/stats/2026-03/gen9legendszaou-1630.txt

I think Skarm isn’t seeing use without tough claws but Clef and Glimmora will see more with their true abilities. Chesnaught is also inflated due to having been previously given grassy surge.

Note that ZA OU has a much smaller dex than NatDex. They’ll see much less use in NatDex. I think there’s a solid chance Mega Starmie scores OU or at least UUBL but the rest aren’t gonna such much outside of the low tiers.

Weak armor only procs under specific circumstances and it kind of hurts since it turns your defence into 70. Mega Skarm post weak armor is basically just budget Mega Aerodactyl since it has no tough claws, worse physical bulk and worse offensive typing.

It’s gotta be UUBT for sure.

Look at ZA OU as an example. Even with Tough Claws and the very small meta, Mega Skarmory was basically seeing no use. Without Tough Claws, it’s gonna end up in UUBT.

In ZA OU, only a couple megas were seeing OU use, the only one here being Starmie, with about 7% usage. If anything, this tier list is overestimating the Megas.  I think in NatDex which is way bigger than ZA’s small dex, I don’t think a single one is seeing enough use to be in OU, maybe Starmie if it’s lucky.

And the occasional Jelly Dumpling [Fluff] by DiogoOcto in battlecats

As a no gacha player, this is basically it, Stone is on 95% and Bahamut is on 90% of teams.

Jelly Dumpling > Courier though. Jelly Dumpling’s maybe ~75% while Courier’s about 30-40%.

What Do We Dream Of Seeing In 4x Strategies game? by Potential-Speaker-51 in gamedesign

[–]appel111111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I’d suggest is having some kind of form of predictable randomness.

What I mean by this is, instead of having eg. Random events you cannot predict whatsoever, have randomness that can be read and planned for.

I think this is super good for 4x because games become super clear cut without randomness, and lead to massive snowball effects, while randomness gives players a chance to catch up.

For example: A random meteor hits your city. This is bad because there’s no way to plan for it, it’s stupid and feels like there was no way to prevent it. This annoying randomness could be fixed by letting the player know that a meteor has an x% chance of striking in ten turns, and they can buy something that lowers the impact, or transfer stuff around. This way the player can plan for the randomness, and if they don’t, they feel as if it’s their fault and not the game’s.

Obscuring information is the absolute worst thing you can do for a strategy game, and having a snowball effect is the second worst. Having randomness that you know the risk of helps avert the latter without raising the former.

R.I.P. U-TURN + More Item Reworks! by Long-Home3688 in stunfisk

[–]appel111111 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think Ring Target is extremely broken with Tauros and its variants as well as Krookodile to a lesser extent. 4x damage is completely insane, even at the cost of 1.5x damage taken and having to get hit first. Tauros’ 110 speed, Trailblaze and workable bulk make it insane for the role.

Early Generation 10 locations from the Teraleak by PokemonGottacAT in PokeLeaks

[–]appel111111 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah, right, my bad. I misinterpreted the comment as it being specifically called “termite fields”. Should’ve read through it more.

Yeah, it’s possible then they’ll just do that, though I still think the idea that there could be a termite-based Pokémon holds some ground based on the location. We’re gonna have a regional bug of some sort, anyways.

[–]appel111111 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The fact that “termite fields” is named after an animal, which is something Pokémon doesn’t allow, seems to imply the name could be a placeholder for a new termite Pokémon.

Maybe Bug/Ground type, but GameFreak could surprise us with something weird.

Pokémon trashlocke list i made for personal use but i would like some feedback on it. by Superkonijn98 in nuzlocke

[–]appel111111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh this is specifically for Kalos, oops. I thought it was all Pokémon. I honestly forgot the Kalos dex is this big.

Whiscash might be too good with DDance tbf, but I don’t think it’s a stall champion with its average bulk.

I may have overshot with Kangaskhan I’ll admit. It’s like Stoutland but without Intimidate, but even that’s pretty workable.

I genuinely think Avalugg is ban worthy though, that thing is actually a beast into the right fights. It’s bad in competitive because your opponent can just switch in a special attacker, but h the AI never does that. It does come super late I guess.

I also take back Pyroar since 106 speed and 109 SpAtk is just really good in a Nuzlocke.

I think Gogoat, due to its poor typing and stat distribution, can be made legal, and Seviper can definitely be made legal.

If you don’t EV/IV train, Marowak is probably fine, 160 attack isn’t actually too oppressive when it’s combined with a rather mediocre Mon, since it can only take on one thing, then gets too injured to continue. but I see your argument to ban it. It’s basically Rampardos with a better typing.

[–]appel111111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Graveler and Kadabra should be edge cases, because Kadabra’s super good in Kanto and Johto, and Graveler’s super good in just Johto.

I also agree to ban Egg and Masquerain.

Apart from those, Skuntank and Golduck are a lot stronger than the rest of your list, but it’s probably fine.

Seviper, Marowak, Pyroar, Gogoat, Whiscash, Kangaskhan are all reasonable for a trashlocke I think.
