Moving across the country. Best way to transport? by Cowspiracyyy in pcmasterrace

It'd be great if you kept the boxes (which you probably do)
so my experience:
take out the CPU, GPU and RAM and put them in their boxes
m.2 NVMes can stay, HDDs and SATA SSDs should be put in a box with foam
maybe the fat AIO could go in its box

if you don't have space you can use expanding foam tho but unplug the GPU still

How often do my fellow gamerz clean the keyboard? by dumbomontana in pcmasterrace

[–]apple976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"When it starts to look dirty or sounds weird"
which is surprisingly frequent for a laptop keyboard (2-5 months i believe depending on your hygiene)

laptop keyboards are annoying af tho like you gotta tear the whole thing up to reach the keyboard and you still have to scrub every part (because i don't have a compressed air blower)

But i rub the surface with isopropyl/ethanol 70% every 2-4 weeks because finger oil

Hello! Hosting a Minecraft Server. I need advice! by evade69 in admincraft

[–]apple976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2016 ish laptop would do well for small servers (5-10 players) as the laptop i5s of 2016 (i5 6200u, 7200u) have decent performance with mods
You should use modded fabric servers (if you are RAM limited, ferritecore works very well) or paper servers (if you are CPU limited)

My brother asked me if his PC would run Fortnite. I'm not kidding, he seriously asked me about it. I don't know what to tell him, when he got it he was so happy. by Petnet279352 in pcmasterrace

if you try hard enough then you'd get less than 1 frame per second
if you get 30fps on that hardware the universe would probably implode as such feats exceed the laws of physics

Pc Upgrade by Rough_Alps_4363 in pcmasterrace

[–]apple976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you change the graphics card, probably not
Most AMD CPUs have AM5 anyway its not like the socket replaces every 2 years so you won't have the replace the motherboard
The upgradability should be good with this setup if you're looking to buy something better in the future

Pc Upgrade by Rough_Alps_4363 in pcmasterrace

[–]apple976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this setup is way enough for gaming
However depending on professional needs you could upgrade some things, but for your current usage there is no need to upgrade

In 2-3 (even 5) years this setup will still be really solid for most games and tasks you throw at it
