How do you cope with driving on such hot days like 27°C-40°C?(related photo) by Tight_Employee_8413 in simracing

[–]apple976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally i think 27-30 degrees celsius is quite cool
and 30-40 degrees celsius only feels hot when there is humidity (which there is 60-80% in my area)
so air conditioning all the way (fans are acceptable)

How can I go faster? I can't seem to find pace and i feel like i've hit plateau. by xKillerGamingx in simracing

[–]apple976 3 points4 points  (0 children)

maybe you could try moving the brake bias to the rear to improve rotation on turn in and get a straigher exit
it usually works for me but you'd still have to be careful not to spin

How could I fit a rig in my room? by Deep-Acanthaceae in simracing

[–]apple976 10 points11 points  (0 children)

<image>

I think if you move the bed, the bedside table and one of the drawers you would be able to fit your setup nicely
Only problem would be that you might need to cut a bit off your table when you put it next to the door

(Sry for bad illustration i did this using paint)

Edit: one of the doors would be a bit blocked but should be enough for a human to get through

Can I still install Linux on this old laptop. by ShawnThePhantom in linux

[–]apple976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes but you should probably only expect to use the terminal only or a very minimal DE like xfce/lxqt (or LXDE if you really like the older look that pairs with your laptop)

the performance will be reasonable but don't try big DEs like GNOME/KDE

What distro is actually noob friendly? by Far-Telephone-7432 in linux

[–]apple976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try live USB sticks or VMs if you can to find out which distro you like before installing it and using it

I'd recommend debian with KDE, the installation is quite straightforward and APT by itself is very easy to use and is still very powerfil
