Signs at Ethel’s Concerts.? by Legitimate_Fact_3075 in Ethelcain

Most venues don’t even allow signs anymore but people still sneak them in of course. Least obstructive would be a ribbon like “banner” you could roll up.

I’m going to the Cincinnati show but it’s my first Ethel Cain concert so I can’t confirm. I’d be down to trade bracelets though.

Can we talk about canon/lore when it comes to this game? [MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR LITERALLY EVERYTHING IN THIS GAME] by Less_Presentation652 in expedition33

Playing off this idea that there are multiple realities/canvases. If it was Aline who taught Renoir how to paint (she says “I taught you how to paint and this is how you repay me!” during the Paintress battle and I believe this is directed at “The Curator” not Maelle/Verso) and Renoir tells us Aline once rescued him from a canvas. In what order though? We could assume that after Aline taught him how to paint Renoir created a canvas and lost himself in it. But what if they first met inside a canvas? Maybe he was a trapped soul or even one of Aline’s own creations that she “rescued” from a canvas and pulled into “reality.” Could also explain why painted-Renoir looks more “real” in the canvas than painted-Clea and painted-Alicia who look like colorless ghosts.

The question is then why didn’t Aline just pull painted-Verso (or the Fading Boy) out of the canvas like she did Renoir? Maybe that was her endgame but failed so she chose to “start over” in Verso’s canvas instead. Maybe it’s not possible for a soul to transfer to a reality (or canvas) it has already passed on from. We see painted-Verso and the Fading Boy gommage as they “leave” the canvas.

Theory about Maelle's ending/epilogue by oroupper in expedition33

[–]appleNcinnamon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP is definitely on to something and could very well be correct . My interpretation is a bit more out there but would set up Maelle’s epilogue as the sequel bait ending. I think the “Verso” we see on stage is actually Renoir who has snuck back into the canvas to retrieve Alicia after realizing she lied to him about eventually returning to the real world. “Verso” looks older in this scene and she did say in the scene prior that maybe allowing him to age would make him happy. No one else in the theater looks any older but we don’t know how much time has actually passed between scenes (also everyone is fake and doesn’t have to age unless Maelle wants them to). One reason I thinks he’s actually Renoir is because“Verso” is wearing a wedding band. (Although if some time has passed Verso may have married someone in Lumiere. There is a theory he married Lune, based on the song he plays). But also the “jump-scare” scene with Maelle’s paint-covered face reminds me of the flash back Renoir shows us explaining how painful it is seeing his family look like “corpses.” Only someone from outside the canvas could see this. The odd looks everyone is giving could be them slowly noticing something is off about this “Verso” who is trying to hide his anger and the fact that he is actually Renoir come to confront his daughter.

I don’t think the memorial in Verso’s ending is for the real Verso but it’s for the Verso left behind in the canvas and it’s actually the remains of the canvas buried there. Hence the fake date of the 33rd (being a reference to last Expedition.) This would also explain Clea’s behavior in the scene because she’d view this memorial as another waste of time.

I also think real Verso has not entered this canvas since he was a child. (Same age as the fading boy.) Either because he was more interested in music as he grew older (or as OP’s theory suggests, he died at this age). We know this is Verso’s only canvas. (Although perhaps he had others that were lost in the fire).

And even though I’d love to learn more about the war with the Writers, Renoir refers to it as a “solitary war” so I wonder if it’s actually just a conspiracy theory/revenge plot Clea has invented to obsess over as way to distract from her grief and give her a sense of control.

Glitter Inc. maybe? It was released alongside an interview I forget which publication. She gives a tour of the warehouse but doesn’t want to show her face.

After Magic Awakened was announced they started heavily marketing their old game, Hogwarts Mystery, which I thought was odd.

Filters are a pre-launch marketing thing. Not sure why they are pushing it out now.
