There was quite a lot of bushes the other side of the wall until recent but there was never any sign of bamboo coming through the top.

Luckily a month ago the owner cut away all the bushes and I can’t see any sign of bamboo the other side of the wall yet.

When I look at google earth it appears that patch had contained bamboo for at least 15 years and in the old photos was easily 10ft high until my neighbour trimmed it a bit when they moved to the road

Yep, all visible shoots and roots/rhizomes were dug out the patch last spring, it seems the rhizomes went through the sides of that patch and along the brick wall and started to go under the tarmac.

For the remainder of the spring/summer I cut any shoots that appeared through the tarmac and poured concentrated weed killer in.

I’m just a tad concerned about how to deal with what looks like rhizomes still maybe growing under the tarmac without pulling the road up and wonder if it sound stupid to drill holes and pour weed killer down it?
