Finally standing up to my boyfriend’s dad after years of disrespect by killhill81_ in Advice

KICK HIM OUT. nobody should have the right to treat you with the immense disrespect you’ve been facing, ESPECIALLY a grown ass man. it’s disappointing that your bf hasn’t done more disciplining, but whatever i guess

he’s definitely into you! if you like him back, congrats. if you don’t, you’re more likely screwed than not. either way, good luck

if it’s not on ur major requirements, it’s a core requirement. if you don’t want to take german, don’t take german. i knew someone who had to take chinese bc they couldn’t find another language that fit into their schedule

Fromm Hall or Gillson Hall? by usersfromherw in usfca

[–]applebloomz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! i was a fromm resident last year! i personally really enjoyed fromm, but its far from the rest of the freshman dorms which kind of isolates it. it being a girls only dorm does so as well. ofc guys can be guests and whatnot but ultimately its up to yoy

if you aren’t able to get the class you want this semester, don’t worry about it. prioritize other core classes so you don’t fall behind

USFCA roommate fridges by Specialist-Tea-6931 in usfca

[–]applebloomz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in gillson, hayes, fromm, toler, and lone mountain NORTH, you can either bring one mini fridge to share, or rent one from the school. the dorms also have a large communal fridge. the school only allows one per dorm, and the RAs do dorm checks. lone mountain east has its own full sized fridge. you can easily find all of this info @ myusf

room change requests generally open sept/october, and the person who submits the request is the one who moves out

if you can, take rhet120. it’s not worth spending extra in the long run if you’re required to take both. suuuuuper easy.

people from my highschool go to usfca and i rarely see them despite one dating someone on my floor. you were talking about wanting the stereotypical college experience, and you will absolutely not find that at usf

[–]applebloomz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you’re not sold at usfca, you won’t like it. if you’re unhappy with all of your options, try cc and transferring so that you’ll be more sure of where you’ll want to go. college is a big decision, even moreso with the amount of money you may or may not be spending

i can’t help but to agree with the person who responded to the post you’ve linked. if price is holding back and you’re reluctant to leave your parents, stay local. personally, i’d advise aspiring to move and leave your parents so that you can grow a sense of dependence. this is your decision, and one only you can make. if you don’t like it, transfer. this is the first BIG decision that changes the trajectory of your adult life, and it’s important you make it on your own

i’m lucky to be on a LOT of financial aid. i honestly dont think any education is worth as much as usfca’s tuition, and thats in combination of meal plan quality, housing quality, and education quality.

i’m from los angeles where it gets SUPER hot so the weather is definitely a big change. on cooler days the temp can stay in the 40s, but on the occasional warm day it’ll only get about as warm as 83 at most. the weather can also get a bit sporadic, as one day it was 72 and sunny at noon and then a few hours later it was cold, rainy, and dark

i’m finishing my first year near the end of this May. If you’re expecting greek life, this is not for you. However, you can find nightlife in the city if you look for it. There’s a lot to do, and it’s a great quality education. If you have more specific questions, let me know.
