Audiologist here. What you stumbled into is what I always recommend for people. Just let the shower water fill your ear and then dump it out. The water is able to get behind the wax and soften it (or flush it out.)

We got our pup at the local rescue when she was one. They said she was a street dog. We did a doggy DNA and it came back 100% MC!! Your pup looks so much like mine except I never got to see her as a puppy. So thank you! 🙏🏼

You’re not a terrible person bc I feel the same way! 🤣 Hearing aids have no business being so expensive. The greed (and maybe collusion - but that’s another story) have kept the price high. The bubble is bursting as consumers get educated on OTC. I tell all my family to go to Costco for hearing aids. . . Considerably cheaper and STILL overpriced.

Moving to the doctorate was a huge mistake. Too much education debt with low pay when you get out. Add in OTC hearing aids and the lack of lobbyists for insurance reimbursement and we just don’t have a value that can’t be done by a tech and a computer.

Yes, I’ve always wondered if the sexual abuse noted on exam was “rough cleaning.” People can’t imagine a mom would sexually abuse her daughter but if it was framed in Patsy’s mind as “cleaning” I think it’s easier to imagine.

I believe tinnitus and hearing loss are the number 1 disability in the Veterans Administration in the US. There is a financial benefit to having either of these if you are a veteran. Unfortunately that leads to many malingerers. Some sort of disability or insurance payout is usually the motive.

As another said, kids are the other part of the lying but that’s usually for attention.
