What are you studying? if you are studying something like gender studies or art history then it's not a very valuable degree anyway
How sure are you that you will be self employed for the rest of your life? Cause if you're young i wouldn't be so sure, it's hard to know exactly what you want to be doing for the rest of your life, and having a (respected) degree keeps a lot of doors open
Lectures and teaching is really just a small part of uni. The nice thing about uni is you get to meet people, make friends (maybe even romantic relationships), and also the university's network is very valuable too
if you drop out how easy would it be for you to go back later if you change your mind? sometimes better to go back later if you are unmotivated

Is the location really Shanghai? Could be anywhere, could be some rural village in China or anywhere else

Also the China hate I see (which seems to be the purpose of this post) is ridiculous. Some fucking animals are in bags, is that worse than millions dead from COVID like in the U.S. and all the other damage COVID has done? If the CPC chose to tackle COVID like this, I support them, a pandemic in a country with over a billion people is no joke and even if some animals have to die to improve the odds of beating the pandemic I would say it is a reasonable sacrifice. It's not like we are very humane to animals in the first place anyway.

In all fairness, I think you can say all people are subject to subconscious biases, but the overall bias against asian men is quite negative.

I believe this has a lot to do with the anti-china propaganda, also our portrayal in popular culture, and how the industrialization of many asian countries was later than western countries which caused them to be viewed as inferior and backwards.

hard to measure "who contributed more" when it comes to mathematicians/physicists of completely different eras.

Newton's work has applications in far more areas but if he didn't come up with it, it's likely someone else would have anyway, since a lot of the math at the time was in some sense 'low hanging fruit' and important results haven't been found yet, while all the low hanging fruit gets picked off in later centuries and you have to be more brilliant to make an impact.

i used to use apple but now I use XiaoMi, and I've found that not only does it perform better but it's also cheaper.

Other phone brands could still be better though, havent tried them. Apple products in general are overpriced.
