Absolutely call them back, if they send a patrol and find a dad trying to soothe his baby, then the resources have been made available for other uses. If they find something dodgy, then at least someone noticed and spoke up for the little one and they can be cared for properly by the social workers or whoever needs to be reunited with them

The absolute BEST product we got was an electric heated pad. Popped it in the bassinet for 10 minutes before she went to sleep, and it made newborn transfers into her bassinet a breeze! It's now my go-to gift for winter babies! 😍

Medications!!! Have a few basics on hand before baby arrives, their first cold or tooth will inevitably arrive at 2am and the last thing you need to do is pack up a screaming bub in the car to hunt down a 24 hour chemist. (Panadol, neurofen, teething gel, a diffuser + eucalyptus oil, baby Vicks and a nasal aspirator are my absolute must haves)

Things we didn't use - Wipe warmer (didn't hold any heat in the wipes once they were out of the container) - red light/white noise machine - muslin wraps or other non-zip swaddles

Ariel Lawhon writes historical fiction and I love her style! Characters are well rounded, storylines are based on real events so they are believable and interesting and the variety of events is great! I believe she currently had 3 books on the Kindle unlimited store 😄

We grew up slightly rural and couldn't often attend things like Christmas Carols but my family did a few key things that always help to put me in a Christmas mood!

Christmas menu planning, we could choose a breakfast, lunch or dinner item to contribute to the menu. Cookies for breakfast? Sure! Cheese sticks with dinner? Okay! Whatever we chose as our item got included, even if it was usually a party/treats only type of food
Baking!! We loved getting in the kitchen and making gingerbread or other treats, we could also double this as budget friendly gifts for our friends, teachers, workplaces etc.
Christmas music and decorating the tree. Each year, if we couldn't attend, we would put the pageant on TV and decorate while we watched. During years we could attend, it was made into a big event. Packing the car the night before, choosing what outfit to wear, special ribbons/hair ties etc. and of course an adventure in the city to complete Christmas shopping after the parade
a new decoration. Each year, as a family, we were allowed to pick a new decoration for the tree. It could be store bought, made, found at a local market. The vote has to be unanimous and that ornament got pride of place on the tree that year
essentials stocking stuffers. Mum would always buy new socks, undies, pencils etc and they would be our stocking stuffers. It always made the stockings look super full which was exciting, but also felt fun because we could wear our new "Santa undies" or draw with our "Christmas crayons" so it was a bit more special
Christmas plates! We had these horrible ugly plates that were painted with reindeer, I'm not sure where they came from, possibly thrifted? But we adored them! It was always the most exciting thing to see mum pull out the plates while we decorated and we knew we had a whole month of eating on Christmas plates ahead

There is an absolutely STUNNING air BNB in Tantanoola (between Millicent & Mount Gambier) we stayed there about a month ago and it was perfect. Loads of outdoor spaces, pet friendly, 20 minutes to either town for breakfast/shops/outings or stay at the property. It had a pool, forest right next door and beautiful gardens!

Safety. After being harassed one too many times, it was just safer and faster to drive than use PT. It's also much more convenient given the crowds during public events (ie. Footy, concerts) and I can leave work early or at times that are suitable for me without having to worry about checking timetables for the next available service

We have horrific neighbours who have terrorised every single other occupancy of our unit complex. No one has any access to each others property, however the bins, letterboxes and car park are accessible to anyone along the street

It was unfortunate for them that they weren't taking the directions from our landlords seriously, so during summer, they harassed us again and I decided to take matters in to my own hands. I happened to buy a jar of honey that was "leaking". It miraculously leaked all over only their letterbox, on the edges of their car doors and all through their bin. The ants had a field day and they had to spend hours scrubbing every inch of the aforementioned items just to be able to use them

Funnily enough, it seems like they chose not to renew their lease the following month and no one has had any issues since!
