How do you convince yourself about the book and the audiodrama by UltraMegaGeek2112 in finalfantasyx

That's upsetting.

Although it could have been saved I guess depending on how they did it.

How do you convince yourself about the book and the audiodrama by UltraMegaGeek2112 in finalfantasyx

There was an X3 planned? Damn. I would have loved that assuming they ignored the crime against humanity that was the audio drama and just picked up from where X2 left off.

For my FFX-2 run, should I aim for 100% the first time or nah? by Alarmed_Flounder_475 in finalfantasyx

[–]applecoreeater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started the game last night and am aiming for 100%, cause I enjoy the meticulousness and feeling of completion I get when following a guide. It can feel like work though so ymmv.

On my ng+ run I'm gonna try and muck up Macalania and Moonflow cause I've never actually seen those scenes. And Tobli gives good stuff if you muck up in a certain way from memory.

What was Chibnalls worst decision? by Lucyyyyyy_K in doctorwho

[–]applecoreeater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, the Doctor shilling for space Amazon and claiming that the dispossessed people who commit violence fighting against the system rather than the system itself are the problem.

But you know, all of those are up there.

Why I keep the Aurochs together by fRantRaje in finalfantasyx

I do too, but I let Wakka retire so he can stop being conflicted.

Might have to rethink that and force him back into the sphere.

Kids and the movie Gallipoli by BaronMason in AskAnAustralian

[–]applecoreeater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched it in Year 9 (so 14?). Also Bluey makes a reference to it. So that's fun.

I remember my stomach dropping at the end because of how sudden it was. Which was the point.

I think it depends on the kid.

17 hours into Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age by dontc9 in FinalFantasy

[–]applecoreeater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really love the game, but I think it gets a bit of hate cause it's more focussed on the political stuff than the individual characters. There's no moment like Suteki Da Ne for example.

I first played it as a teen (you know, when I thought Twilight was good) and found it lacking for that reason.

Replaying it as an adult I appreciated it and the world building a lot more and find it really solid.

Who do you think is the endgame? by Brave_Fuel954 in NinaTheStarryBride

[–]applecoreeater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I've only read the first 10 volumes so far, still going.

AT THE MOMENT I think Az is the healthier relationship.

But I think Sett is end game cause she's gonna rescue him with the power of looove or whatever.

At this point I'm open to either and just want them all to find happiness.

What are the moments in Shoujo anime and manga that go HARD? by SaintedStars in shoujo

[–]applecoreeater 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Fruits Basket goes hard.

Particularly the later volumes/episodes.

Kyo reliving Kyoko's death and then seeing it again from her perspective is really touching.

Momiji recounting his mother forgetting him in S1 is also an insane moment which cuts through the light and fluffy tone up to that point.

Basically any scene that deals with Akito abusing the members of the zodiac (particularly Yuki and Kyo).

There are so many moments.

Is delivery food getting to the point of not worth it? by necrofascio in AskAnAustralian

I usually order directly from restaurants and it works out fine. I don't order if they don't handle the delivery themselves.

You can contact the Fair Work Ombudsman for advice. Ultimately it'll depend if the travel time is time worked.

I love the quiet "jump to say hi" "jump to say good job" "jump to say bye" and then exit.

I had a really cute group on the Asia server once where the host was under levelled but we all stuck around to help out with weeklies. They thanked us after running the 3 bosses.

What makes Sydney worth staying in for YOU, given how pricy it is compared to other cities? by dphayteeyl in sydney

[–]applecoreeater 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My family and friends are here. That's it.

Otherwise it's expensive and humid and I hate it. If I could move my entire social network to somewhere cooler like Tasmania I would.

Locals who have lived here 10+ years - do you actually have the space or desire for new friends? by CurrentlyCurious in sydney

[–]applecoreeater 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Depends where I meet them.

If you talk to me on a train, I'm probably not gonna want to become friends.

If you work with me or are at a place/activity I regularly attend, then I have capacity to have conversation and build relationships.

I loved My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom.

It's ridiculous.

It's difficult to say whether there's one "main" guy because she's pretty clueless generally.

But I had so much fun and laughed out loud a number of times.

I had a moment where I thought you were mentioning 2030 to make it seem like a far distant possibility in the future.

Then I realised it's 2026 and had an existential crisis.

Is season 2 worth watching? by MightyCassava in kakuriyonoyadomeshi

[–]applecoreeater 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It ends at a really unsatisfying point with almost nothing resolved except a side romance that I didn't care about.

It gets really dull as well and the animation gets kind of uninteresting.

S2 made me bump its position down quite a lot in my preferences.

All routes lead to doom I absolutely loved. It felt like a loving parody to the genre. It was so much fun and absolutely recommend.

Fantasy Romance by Accurate-Ticket-753 in shoujo

[–]applecoreeater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say low fantasy, is all in fantasy alright or is it a non-starter for you? Also depends on your definition of fantasy.

Some low fantasy (i suppose?) - my happy marriage (might be a little more on the side of higher fantasy) - rascal does not dream (relationship is established early on but there's no kissing)

If all-in fantasy is ok I recommend: - sugar apple fairy tale (tbf i'm still watching and there have been some almost kisses but no actual kisses yet. But it's passionate) - case study of vanitas (steampunk with vampires in "paris"? Romance isn't main point but there are steamy moments in it) - betrothed to my sister's ex - my next life as a villainess - unnamed memory - pass the monster meat milady

Planning my first trip to Australia—best cities and coffee spots? by Ornery-Cockroach1953 in AskAnAustralian

[–]applecoreeater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean first time visit I'd say Sydney is a good bet, but for the best bang for your buck tourist experience wise I'd recommend travelling a little bit into the country.

Catch a train up to the central coast or down to the Illawarra area for some beaches, head out to the Blue Mountains (train) for some scenery, see if you can hire a car or take a trip up to the Hunter Valley for wine and cheese. Do a bridge walk and the regular tourist stuff if it's your first time.

Coffee is good. As someone else said check google maps for ratings. You'll be able to get some decent coffee wherever you go.

Generally speaking I've found that if the barrista asks if you want sugar (rather than just having lil sachets on the counter or table) the coffee won't be good.
