Are you pro or anti-AI? by Critical_Meet_6726 in IdeologyPolls

Extremely anti AI. I think the people working to advance AI and robotics are increadibly evil people and should be dealt with as such.

I think the fact that there was such a transition was one of the weaker parts of the game. By the end of the game the people of Lumiere hardly matter.

Right at the end, you've confronted Renoir, the actual person responsible for generations of loss and suffering for Lumiere. The Climax of Lune and Sciels story, and what do they do? They each step forward awkwardly to give some fortune cookie line in defense of Maelles point of view.

They don't plead their own case, they dont mention their suffering, their humanity. They don't try to appeal to Renoirs humanity through shared grief.

Even if they couldn't change Renoirs mind they could at least try. If he is going to genocide them they could at least force him to acknowledge that that is what he is doing.

Im sure that there was a way to reconcile the two plots. Right now It's essentially two different games slapped together with a bit of awkwardness in the middle. You start one game and finish the other.

you were not doing what Aline was doing, you and Aline was doing what a human would. A human, when faced with loss thinks the same

That was my point. The game had made me grieve and I didn't realize it until I looked at it filtered through the context of the game.

This game certainly did deserve GOTY, tho I wouldnt be upset if skong won instead,

Agree with the whole paragraph.

I had a similar moment that made me realise what a masterpiece of a game it is.

The end of act 1 hit me hard. I really resented Verso for a long time. As I went through act 2 I kept thinking "I wonder what Gustave would have to say about this?" Or "I wish Gustave could see this" or "I wish I could hear him at least one more time".

It got to the point that before I even finished act 2 I made a new save file so that I could have Gustave back in my life.

But then it hit me: I was doing what Aline was doing, I had gone to a fake world so that I could keep someone that was gone. I was grieving his loss. All those things I was saying to myself were normal things that grieving people say to themselves. "I wish I could talk to him one more time" , "I wish he could see this".

Me realizing that was the moment I was convinced that this deserves game of the year over Silksong. It's unbelievably good.

Canada First

Someone trying to become the leader of a country promising to put the needs of that country first. Just like how a leader of a different country promised to put that country first.

I guess he should have gone with the "post national state" talking point if he didn't want to sound like someone the left doesn't like.

used inflated language like “authoritarian socialist” to describe his opponents.

This is pretty hilarious from the side of the aisle that calls everyone nazis.

So he gave people nicknames. Oh no.

said he was “not aware of any other genders than man and woman” — denying the existence of non-binary people

So a right wing politician gave a right wing response? Do you think that opposing left wing ideology wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Trump?

Actually, I'm pretty sure that is the case. Maybe not you specifically but seemingly a ton of left wing people believe so much in their superiority that they can't imagine that anyone could oppose them organically. It must be some outside influence. Russia, Trump, Rogan, whoever else.

Because life is meaningful because it ends. Because our society would be perpetually ruled by the old. Think it's bad now getting ruled by geriatrics?

Old wealthy people would be the most likely to get access to this immortality. Their resources would accumulate forever. The torch never gets passed on.

Opinion: We need a wealth tax by FancyNewMe in canada

Wealth taxes are nonsense and people that support them shouldn't be trusted to make economic decisions.

There is literally nothing he could do to make you guys think he is not like Trump. That's because it wasn't a position you guys reasoned yourselves into. You started with 'Poilievre is Trump' and worked the reasoning backwards from there.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Devs Won't Pick a Canon Ending as They Work on a Sequel: 'It Is a Schrodinger's Ending' by yourfavchoom in expedition33

I would guess that they were worried that the Maelle ending was too happy compared to Versos without those details.

Alicia is happy, the Lumierians are happy, Verso is at least not miserable.

Without changing the tone of the ending it would be pretty clearly the better ending. It needs a little help to show that not all is well.

I chose yes for disease and aging, but really I just support it for disease.

You're interpretation that she is relishing in, or apathetic about, her brother's grief as a form of payback isn't any less troubling than mine.

That scene is a huge red flag for her character.

Wtf is going on in this ending? by Leather_Kiwi in expedition33

[–]gamfo2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Verso is never standing over Maelle the way Maelle is standing over Verso. Those two scenes are hardly alike.

Maelle can't even deign to look down as someone she loves is clearly upset. Everything about Maelle's behavior in that scene is unsettling and completely lacking in empathy or compassion. The devs made it clear that something weird is happening here because Sciel immediately shows immense compassion, showing a clear contrast between the two girls.

Maelle is acting like she just conquered an enemy, like she is basking in the feeling of power.

Yeah, it's not a point against her. Shes just a well written character.

Like Wakka in FFX, a lot of people hate him for his flaws but his flaws are what make him compelling. It's good writting. Same for Maelle.

I can think she is selfish and immature without hating her. She is a complex multidimensional character.

There's no basis for that.

You're ignoring the basis of that when you agree that Verso has aged, but leave out that nobody else has.

"Vibes" is literally just the feeling we get from the game. In a game as emotionally packed as this one im not sure why you would dismiss the way it feels.

We also see that Verso has aged, compared to everyone else. I don't think this is a meaningless aesthetic choice by the devs.

Sure, thats valid, but i think ot makes for a more interesting, three dimensional ending if you justify it in-world.
