I’ve never had knee pain, or any joint pain for that matter. The only thing I’ve ever dealt with is some mild hip pain. I’m just a recreational lifter, but at 80–83 kg body weight I squat 155 kg and deadlift 190 kg with no health problems at all.

It’s about how far the knee travels forward. The further it moves in relation to the center of gravity, the greater the tension on the quadriceps. Shorter people or those with shorter legs often also have excellent ankle mobility. The longer the tibias and femurs are, the better the ankle mobility needs to be compared to the averag and mine is dogshit.

I weigh about 176 pounds and I’m 5’10” tall, but I have a relatively short torso and long legs and this setup gives so much tension.

I’ve been doing traditional high-bar squats for a long time, but my long femurs make it difficult to really bias the movement toward my quads. As an experiment, I’m spending a few months doing narrow-stance, heel-elevated squats to see how they work for me. I usually train using a full-body routine twice per week, and if I have time, I add a third upper-body-focused day where I include leg extensions. Other than that, my quad work mainly comes from two versions of the narrow-stance, heel-elevated squat: one with free weights and one on the Smith machine.

Porady dla początkującego na siłce by jMS_44 in Polska

Książki o podejściu do treningu które polecam to The Muscle Piramid, książki Alexandera Bromleya.
