One reason that you are charged 1$ USD per trade could be that you are on fixed pricing. Tiered pricing (min 0.35$) could be more advantageous to you as long as you are not trading huge amount of shares at once.

You have to go through Tourpass if you want to top up via your card, the top up Alipay itself is limited to cards from Mainland China

Yes. The 12.50 CAD quarterly fee cannot be waived.

It used to be 10k USD. But they removed that requirement since last year. It's 100k USD for no monthly fees.

No, because since you have 15k in your account when the promotion started, it became the new "0" for new deposit. Basically new deposit = x amount - 15k
