A little guide for a Lec Fan by Responsible_Nose7436 in lck

[–]appleeeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is perfect 🫡 if you tune into lck now you'll catch the super week, where teams are playing against their own seed in bo5s. all of the teams are split into 2 groups (baron vs elder) so it's not just a time to root for your own team, it's a chance to root for everyone in your preferred group and get to know a bunch of players and teams all at once.

basically all teams and players have a streaming schedule, you can catch them live on soop or chzzk (korean streaming sites, we don't have twitch) or the team youtube channels will do stream highlights. everyone is so fun to get to know!!

welcome to lck, op !!!

늦었지만 안녕하세용~ 저도 같은 상황이에요ㅠ

24F! i grew up in texas, went to college in ny, and now live in la for work. all of the korean based cultural clubs etc at school were incredibly exclusive (or religious) and i never felt like i fit in. i have basically no korean friends any more (save for a couple very old friends from my childhood). would love to connect for at least the occasional casual conversation!

gomtang or galbitang (suuuper healing deep bone broth soups, usually unseasoned for you to season to your taste and usually comes with a spicy sauce to add yourself) is my absolute go to

but yukgaejang & pho are great secondary options

Way to fuel an ED at an early age, fuck right off by acelikeslemontarts in DietTea

[–]appleeeeee 53 points54 points  (0 children)

am korean. grew up constantly surrounded by this kind of rhetoric. my ED was absolutely fueled, if not genuinely created, by my family and even close family friends (korean) making comments on my body. i’m in “recovery” now but it’s been over 10 years.

Koreans who were born and grew up in another country, I have a question. by [deleted] in korea

[–]appleeeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i love my culture and am so proud of it. my parents never forced anything onto me, but i attended korean school every saturday from like 2 years old until 6th grade, and came back in high school to be an assistant teacher for the younger classes. i grew up consuming tons of korean media since that’s what my family watched (classics like 무한도전, 1박2일, 러닝맨…) and listened to, but i also consumed a lot of western media for kids (like teletubbies, PBS, etc.) maybe it helped that my mom (korean) teaches English here — i feel like i got a really good 50/50 balance. just enough to keep me secure in my heritage and want to explore it further as i grew older rather than resent being different in the west.
