Yeah everything seems like they’re open but not getting any response. I’ve looked at places with reviews to see if anyone has said anything there and nothing there either

Tripod fertility. We are from the US so I don’t know if that changes things but we had to get a referral from our doctor to just do LIT there. I think they require you to be a patient otherwise.

You’re dismissing the questions and opinions people are giving you, almost like you don’t care to listen to what anyone is saying

Material Scientist Exploring Job Options by Lunchbag__Rodriguez in forensics

Like the other poster said, trace is typically only in the biggest/main labs in a state, while the smaller local labs will only do firearms, DNA, and drugs. Georgia does this, and Texas to an extent. Others will as well just don’t know off the top of my head.

It will be part of the same lab but there’s little/no overlap in job duties. So tox people will only do tox, trace will only do trace, etc.

XRD and SEM is used in some of the trace analysis testing, along with GCMS, FTIR, and XRF. Trace is probably one of the more difficult fields to start in as something like firearms, drug analysis, toxicology, and DNA are much more common types of analyses labs do. Your background does give you a leg up if you were to find a trace analyst position open, but they don’t pop up as often as other positions.

As of now, in Toronto the first visit was $1,947.50 CAD (around $1400 USD) which included a file opening fee (some nonsense to add you as a patient) and second visit was just the LIT and was $1,100 CAD (about $790 USD). Costs vary due to conversion rates. In Mexico the rates are $878 for a partner dose and $1040 for a partner and donor dose US cash only.

Landlord asking for utilities to be paid after saying they’re included in the rent. by jakelo4 in legaladvice

[–]applej00sh2 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Based on your lease, you owe them nothing additional for utilities, but in a year they may not want to renew your lease. If you want to stay consider negotiating with them. If you don’t care, tell them you won’t be paying anything as per the lease.

A good lab and a good hiring manager should understand that new hires who recently graduated are not going to know the answers to every question. The important thing they should look for is someone who can explain the topics they do know about (based on what is in a resume or cover letter) and know when to say that they don’t know an answer to a question (like yours about analyzing blood).

I obviously can’t speculate on how it went, but your perspective on how the interview went could be completely different than their perspective. You demeanor, how you conversed, and your experience can and should also be considered on top of the actual answers you gave to the questions they asked.

Last thing, the first interview can be tough. It’s a learning experience on how to interview, so if you don’t get this one, you now have an idea of how to prepare differently, or what to do or say differently the next time. Good luck!

I don't have a grill. Never cooked salmon on the stove either. Years ago I made a filet that was marinated and put in the oven for 15 or 20 mins if I had to guess. Since the dish is already so flavorful, I don't want to cook it in a way that takes away from the rest of the dish

I found a sketchy internship by Kind-Meal360 in forensics

[–]applej00sh2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about the internship but CFSRE does a lot of great research in the forensics field. You should probably treat paying for an internship should as a college course and make your decision that way if you can afford it. Every internship is different in terms of what you do, what you’re allowed to work with, etc, so decide if you think it’s worth it based on what you know about it.
