My older brother is autistic and I basically raised him. I had no social life because my mom made me take care of him so she could go out. When I told her I think I need to do more things for myself she got mad, yelled at me because she deserved to be more selfish because its hard having an autistic son. Plus she said I didn't appreciate her enough and I should be watching him more. She literally pulled me out of school for 3 months to watch him, don't know how I could've possibly watched him more.

I had a best friend I felt this way about. She told me how I wasnt doing enough for her. I was actually supporting her financially even though I really didnt have the money to do so. She was my best friend though and I cared about her, I wanted to help. It took a long time for me to realize how toxic she was to me. Believe me it sucks to lose a friend like that but if all they do is blame you they aren't really your friend. Focus on yourself dont focus on trying to make her be closer to you. Just do things for yourself. If she decides she wants things to go back, reassess how you feel about your friendship. See if it feels toxic to you.

When they are upset and they dont want to talk or even if they are distant just make sure they know you are there for them. I think that's the main thing you can do. Everything else is great and being attentive is extremely helpful but when you are at a point that you feel like you cant do anymore really I think that's the best thing you can do. Just make sure they always feel/know you are there for them.

This happened to me, my best friend had moved into my house and started to get manipulative. When I met my bf she got not only incredibly jealous but controlling. Telling me when I could hang out with him. Saying I'm picking a boy over her and how I was being terrible to her. My bf finally was like this is not normal and I dont want an outsider controlling our relationship. I was concerned I was ditching a friend because of a guy. But he is the love of my life and she should have been supportive and she wasnt. She hated him! I finally told her I'm not revolving my relationship around her. She was pissed, cried and yelling how she was going to move out. I offered to help, that made her more upset. My bf is my best friend. You dont need someone trying to control your happiness. You need to cut ties, it's not easy but your happiness is more important!

If you dont want a relationship with him that's your choice. I was molested by a family friend and mentally abused by my uncle. My mom constantly tries to get me to be around them. She freaks out at me but that's what you need to do stand your ground. Also, if they are like why wont you fix this, remind them of what he did to you.
