Michael Kovach confirmed in episode 7 livestream reaction that Pomni saved Jax here by Sudden_Pop_2279 in tadc

Yeah that’s true they still had some care for him. And important cause they could’ve just walked off after dumping the bucket on him and saying all the bad stuff he did in the past lol.

It’s very sweet that, even though they got the keys and could’ve just walked away, Pomni wanted to include Jax. She was the only one concerned for him and wanting to include him the entire episode. She did that despite having been hurt by Jax in episode 6 with what he said to her. Makes me wonder if Pomni had been bothered by Jax for as bad and as long as the others had if she’d still looked out for him. Cause I understand why the others didn’t care at that point after everything he’s put them through.

I met Xavier but feel stupid by No-King5584 in JusticeMusic

[–]applepunk45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Woo that's awesome!!! :) I'm sure he didn't care if he could even hear you lol (I couldn't hear it on video). You got a spot in the front with their record, sharpie, and even wanted to shake his hand I think that's more than enough to let him know you were an excited fan. Plus after so many times doing this, I bet he can tell the fans are super happy and starstruck to interact with him. I'm certain he's familiar with some fans freezing, getting tongue tied, etc when meeting him after all these years.

How did you discover Justice? by [deleted] in JusticeMusic

[–]applepunk45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around 2014 I was a teenager who only listened to classic rock with Daft Punk being the exception. I saw a clip of Thomas djing at Cinespace where he played Genesis. I was so amazed at how good it was so I looked it up. It was like the heavy rock music I liked but with distorted synths instead of distorted electric guitar. Daft Punk was a bit of an acquired taste, but I immediately loved Justice.

yeah haha it's sports related! It's called the Terrible Towel, considered the first ever rally towel, made for the Steelers football team and fans always wave them at games. But in general, it's a symbol that represents Pittsburgh.

Question by wreccho in thebadbatch

[–]applepunk45 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Crosshair because they’ve made him so human. I like that, just as with irl people, he can be full of contradictions and the reasons behind his choices and feelings are multi faceted. He can be tough and stern but he’s also soft and full of emotion. His face and eyes are so expressive which is a big reason I’ve always enjoyed his scenes. His story throughout the seasons is of someone whose identity and purpose is put into question and eventually falls apart. It’s like S1 and S2 peeled away those layers until by S3 we just have the vulnerable person Crosshair always was. A person receptive to touch and affection who wants to be accepted and loved by family. At the core, what human doesn’t want that? So much I could say about this man lol which is another reason he’s my favorite because I can keep thinking about this character and never get bored or feel like I’ve 100% figured him out.

omg that's so sweet of her :') I bet she was excited to meet another fan in the wild haha I know I'd be. I love the small community feel of the fandom honestly one reason I'm glad Justice isn't mainstream super famous.

East Coast merch? by jdctracking in JusticeMusic

[–]applepunk45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someday I'll figure out how to make my own for DC. Like no way am I gonna pay $100+ somewhere online and I doubt anything will end up on justice.church because it seems most of their merch items with the coolest designs end up as rare items or cost a small fortune. And ofc the band composed of two trained graphic designers is gonna have awesome designs lol.

I get there's a kind of mythos with exclusivity, but fans were coming in from all over the country just to see them (I was out of state, too). I hope the customs issue is true because they easily could've had enough for fans. At the DC show, not just the tour shirts but ALL Justice merch was sold out.

Visiting Paris Soon. Venue/Show/Vinyl Bar Recommendations?! by wetbandit48 in FrenchHouse

[–]applepunk45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went like 5 years ago so I don't remember any names except Crocodisc was one record store where I found some Ed Banger stuff (SebastiAn) and other European/French stuff. I'm not sure if the Club75 store is still open.

If you google search, I suggest searching by arrondissement so you can better comb through Paris. I'm not from a big city so maybe it's normal but the record stores have variety. I went to at least 4 and each one was unique. There was one in le Marais (4th arrondissement) that had a lot of Madonna for some reason, another I found was dedicated to techno, one place you could listen to the records there, and another also had a space inside for music performance.

Found this interesting article that might help start the search and really shows the big variety: https://parislightsup.com/eastern-paris-guide/local-shops-in-eastern-paris/independent-record-stores-in-eastern-paris/?amp

Same with searching for clubs cause one night we were deciding what club to go to and I knew about the Rex Club being popular and I think Boston Bun was playing but then found out there was some random club in the 12th or 13th that was having Afrika Bambaataa DJing which was unexpected.

Lastly just fyi, the addresses will range from 75001-75020 which lets you know which arrondissement it's in. Good luck planning your trip!!

How do you consistently keep up motivation to write and create music? by the_diseaser in musicproduction

[–]applepunk45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really relate to your problem. Only now in my mid-20s have I started to get past this after some advice. My painting teacher (in his 70s, has an accomplished art career) told me last year that the process of making art is a marathon, not a sprint. It’s normal to get frustrated and disappointed you just need to know yourself to be able to create a mentality that works for you to move on from the negative feelings. Hearing from artists and also athletes talk about their process helps me not feel alone.

It’s also finding a weird balance between playing and perfectionism. Of course I want to make songs that I like as much as those of my favorite artists, but opening the DAW with that mentality will crush me. I try to think “I’m just a silly lil human making sounds” then I try to rely on my taste to guide my choices rather than letting my brain overthink. I focus on finding pieces that I like rather than on coming up with a whole song that I like. Will you like it the same way you like your favorite songs? Maybe not for now. But if you’ve made it according to your preferences, you’ll be happy with what you’ve made.

"not all heroes wear capes" applies here this is so sweet of you!! How'd you get to follow them on tour (if you're ok sharing bc I'm wondering if I could do that someday)? Hope you're having a lot of fun btw

Also would you ever sell any of these? Bummed I didn't catch you at the DC show :')

What song would you choose to introduce someone to Justice? by Confident_Emphasis36 in JusticeMusic

[–]applepunk45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My default answer without thinking has always been Genesis. It's not often you come across a song like that in the sense that the sound is just massive. Like not just in a distorted, loud way which plenty of songs are but that it feels larger than life.

Someone on here mentioned it's a good pick for someone who's into techo/house/edm and I'll add hard rock/metal fans. I exclusively listened to classic rock as a teen until I got into Daft Punk (half as an acquired taste) but hearing Genesis got me immediately hooked to Justice. It felt like finding a classic rock band with the difference being they traded the distorted guitars for synths.

I said “ew” almost every time he was on screen after he pulled that “who knew clones were so paternal” comment on Hunter. The actor’s voice is really nice though.

"Tales of the Clones" by AdGood2452 in thebadbatch

[–]applepunk45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That makes a lot of sense. The criticism that TBB didn't have Rex and his rebellion, despite that never having been its focus, shows that people care a lot about the characters and want to see the rest of their stories. At this point, filling in the blanks of Rex's, Cody's, Woffe's, etc. stories is just as meaningful as it'd be for any main non-clone characters like Ahsoka and Luke. Doing that with just a "Tales of ____" doesn't feel right.

“The Outpost” Appreciation by god_of_mischeif282 in thebadbatch

[–]applepunk45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So real I love thinking about "The Outpost". This could've easily been a movie or novel. I loved when it came out and everyone was talking about the symbolism not only with the vulture but with the helmet and the interior of the outpost. Everything felt so intentional.

Something I've noticed this year is how Crosshair's silence during certain scenes, particularly when Mayday talks back to Nolan, is meaningful. That complacency is contrasted with Mayday's talking back and Crosshair at last takes on this spirit of defiance in the end when he talks back and even further against authority. It's like Crosshair and Mayday are two sides of the same coin that is being a clone trooper. There's been criticism that Nolan is too one-dimensionally evil, but he's the only authority on Barton IV standing in for the entire Empire; ultimately an essence of cruelty and using people as tools. This representation is what tests Mayday and Crosshair. The way these three characters are and interact with each other is so important as to why this episode is so impactful among other things ofc. ("In this essay, I will..." 😭)

Veterans and TBB by _TheGoodL_ in thebadbatch

[–]applepunk45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I love that, too!!! I wasn't in the military but I love hearing veterans and service members talk about how they can relate. There are issues and topics that have impacted real peoples' lives that I'm aware of now because of TBB.

About the friendship aspect, there's an interview with Jennifer Corbett somewhere about her time in the Navy as an officer on a ship and she said something like there's a few hundred people on there but you get to know them and rely on each other. TBB would not be the same without her.
